About 20-30 years ago, media companies across the political spectrum were good - even CNN and 60 Minutes.
But now, the media get mad at independent journalism for doing its job. Minnesota news companies, including the Star Tribune, Minnpost, and even Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz have tried to ignore the scandal or downplay it.

Thanks to Elon Musk's acquisition of X, anyone with a camera, basic knowledge of government, and some extra time can go about questioning government spending. We no longer have to rely on reporters from major news organizations to break a story.

It’s strange that people employed by newspapers are attacking independent reporters. But truth wants to be free. The legacy media is dying, but that opens the door for anyone to enter.
The federal government, states, and even counties and cities post spending online. Take budgets, city documents, and you can even file public record requests to find public documents that the government tries to hide.
