You Might Be a Democrat If…

On the evening of April 4, 1968—having just learned of the assassination of  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Memphis—New York's U.S. Sen. Robert F. Kennedy climbed onto a platform in Indianapolis to announce that shocking news to a primarily African-American crowd at the corner of Broadway and 17th Street.

Back then, Kennedy—the father of our current HHS Secretary—was a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, and his advisors tried to dissuade RFK from appearing at that event…citing security concerns and the potential for unrest once word of Dr. King's murder reached the crowd. But Bobby plowed ahead, saying it was his responsibility as a Democrat to break the sad news regardless of the danger and to urge his audience to grieve but not riot. Kennedy's courage and political leadership are credited with preventing the violence, which broke out in many other American cities that night, but not in Indianapolis.

Fast-forward to Wednesday this week, when an angry crowd surrounded ICE agents in Minneapolis engaged in ferreting out illegals as they enforced federal immigration laws in that so-called "sanctuary city." A 37-year-old woman named Renee Nicole Good was one of those protesters who used her Honda Pilot to block ICE personnel, impeding their legal operation. ICE agents with weapons drawn reportedly ordered her to exit her vehicle; instead, video appeared to show her Honda Pilot making contact with an ICE agent and knocking him down as he suddenly opened fire, instantly killing the woman.

Unlike Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, the Democratic mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, did not urge compassion and calm. Instead, this political arsonist opted to inflame emotions, racing to TV cameras and outrageously declaring that he had a message for ICE: "Get the f**k out of our city." And based solely on a shaky iPhone video circulating on social media, Frey declared, "They are already trying to spin this as an act of self-defense. Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly – that is bulls**t." Not to be outdone by pipsqueak Frey, Minnesota's disgraced and discredited Governor Tim Walz flatly declared that "We are at war with the federal government."

My, how times have changed in the Democratic Party since 1968! Recent events dictate an update of comedian Jeff Foxworthy's classic routine "You might be a redneck." (Example: "If your front porch collapses and kills more than four dogs, ya might be a redneck.”) Here goes:

- If you are outraged that President Donald J. Trump successfully removed brutal Venezuelan dictator and drug trafficker Nicolás Maduro from Caracas and now has the narco-terrorist behind bars in America…you might be a Democrat.

- If you think it is okay for New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's new director of the Office of Tenant Protection—a nut named Cea Weaver—to have tweeted that her goal is to "Impoverish the white middle class" and to call home ownership "racist"…you might be a Democrat.

- If you see nothing wrong with the rumored scenario that Minnesota's U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar—considering a run for governor this year—might then appoint "The Fraudfather" Tim Walz as her replacement in the Senate…you might be a Democrat.

- If you get excited every January 6 because it is time for you to participate in comical "candlelight vigils" to falsely claim President Trump directed riots at the U.S. Capitol back in 2021…you might be a Democrat.

- If you're Minnesota (yup, them again) Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan—a citizen of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe, meaning you are an Indigenous Native American—but your response to Somali daycare centers in your state defrauding BILLIONS of federal funds is to don an Islamic Hijab, despite the fact that you are Catholic, not Islamic, supposedly "to express solidarity with our immigrant neighbors"…you might be a Democrat. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem correctly characterizes Minnesota as "a trainwreck."

Other examples are endless. Bottom line: the assassinated President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would literally not recognize the shameful, soulless "leaders" of today's national Democratic Party.

As Salem Radio Network talk host Mike Gallagher observes, today's Democrats actually encourage civil unrest. "They want our cities burning. They love the chaos. And let's face it, they don't care one bit about that woman killed in Minneapolis… she's just a prop in their ongoing political battle with President Trump." Gallagher is 100 percent right, of course. But like those cockroaches who survived after atom bombs were dropped on Japan during World War II, irrational Democrats unfortunately aren't going anywhere.

So, the answer is for the rest of us to adopt political Semaglutides: turn off CNN and ABC News and all other outlets whose stock-in-trade is to exploit any tragedy in their never-ending anti-Trump agenda. And to take responsible individual actions like my decision earlier this week to block Facebook messages from a doofus who kept messaging "friends" with unwanted, vitriolic anti-Trump rhetoric.

My philosophical Ozempic™ will safely and naturally decrease our appetite for chaos and malcontents shouting the f-word on our TV screens. Leave the deportation of illegal immigrants and the quelling of unrest to the Trump administration and our brave law enforcement professionals…just don't make stupid agenda-driven Democratic politicians part of your dinnertime TV time anymore. You're welcome.
