Markwayne Mullin is now the Secretary of Homeland Security. Jimmy Kimmel jumped on this to try and joke — and I use that term loosely — about Mullin having previously been "a plumber."
That's not quite accurate, as Mullin dropped out of school to take over his family's business when his father had health issues, and turned it into a massive enterprise worth around a reported $80 million.
That's not someone who is just a plumber.
Yet even if he were, he thought the fact that Mullin was a blue-collar guy was funny, that despite his committee assignments as a member of Congress, he could have nothing to offer the White House beyond fixing a toilet.
This from a guy who made his name on a show called “The Man Show” that featured women with large breasts jumping up and down on a trampoline.
Mullin turned a small, family-owned business into the largest plumbing business in Oklahoma. He owned a number of other businesses as well, which he later sold. He's someone who had to walk with a leg brace as a child, but went to college on a wrestling scholarship and took up mixed martial arts as an adult.
While I don't agree with Mullin on everything, and his public suggestion that he understood why Sen. Rand Paul's neighbor attacked him was out of line, he has done a great deal to admire.
Yet for leftists like Kimmel, it's because of those politics that he's unqualified.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a bachelor's degree in economics, but had absolutely no life experiences or accomplishments before running for Congress. She'd done nothing but make crappy Long Island Iced Teas for tips before entering Congress. Now, I don't have an issue with that in and of itself. I don't like the idea of a professional class of politicians.

What gets me, though, is that Kimmel has never attacked AOC once for being unqualified for literally anything. She's challenged for House leadership positions, despite being relatively junior, and he never said a word against her.
But the snear itself, the idea that a guy who knows how to work with his hands is somehow less than the former bartender, is too much for me. They look down on anyone who knows how to do more than recite academic gobbledygook.
Not that Kimmel can do that, since he's a college dropout himself.
Mullin took something small and grew it. That required a lot of intelligence and understanding of business. It's not as easy to do as someone like Kimmel, who has built absolutely nothing on his own, might like to believe. That's what they hate.
See, Mullin is evidence that everything the Left stands for is absolute BS. He built up his company. He started other companies. He made something of himself, and he did it without free college tuition and universal healthcare. He turned a family setback into a massive success, and that's the way things can go here in the United States, but leftists like Kimmel don't want you to know that. They don't want you to think you can make it on your own.
Kimmel's attempt at humor was nothing more than more elitist nonsense meant to tear down the success of someone who did it without following the Left's playbook. It's the same reason they hate Elon Musk. He's the richest man in the world, and he did it despite so many people claiming it can't be done. JD Vance is more of the same.
They hate it. They hate it when people don't know their place and achieve despite everything they've tried to infect our minds with.
It's not that Mullin was "a plumber," even if that wasn't an accurate summation of who he is professionally. It's that he's a plumber who didn't know his place in the world, that he's supposed to be a servant to his betters, and now he's a member of the president's Cabinet, one of the highest positions anyone can achieve in this country.
He represents success and achievement, and that's what the Left hates.
Jimmy Kimmel may not have told us anything new, but he still told on himself and the Left.
Honestly, I hope the next time his toilet overflows, he's forced to start watching YouTube videos to fix it himself because no plumber will take his call. But even then, I doubt he's capable of recognizing that people like Markwayne Mullin built America, not unfunny, black-faced, misogynist, cry-baby late-night hosts.
