Some Cultures Shouldn't Be Welcomed in the US

The Minnesota scandal regarding a group of Somalis defrauding Medicaid to the tune of about a billion dollars is flabbergasting, but I'm more shocked that we're shocked by it. These are people from Somalia, after all, a culture that thrives not on trade and the rule of law, but piracy.

After the Somali government collapsed and Bill Clinton and the UN tried pathetically to keep the peace while doing almost nothing to actually do so, the country has become a modern-day version of Tortuga, with piracy being one of the largest industries in the hellscape that supposedly passes for a country.

While some Somali immigrants to American shores undoubtedly came looking for a better life and a chance at the American Dream, others were too wrapped up in their own culture to see this nation as anything other than a population of marks waiting to be taken advantage of.

They are but one example out of many of people who come to the United States, sometimes for a better life, but bring with them the very culture that led to life in their nations of origin to become so untenable.

Immigrants from the Middle East try to import ideas like Sharia Law and their brand of religious fundamentalism, all while ignoring the fact that the Middle East was once a center of learning and discovery before those very beliefs took hold so fiercely.

Others bring the thuggery they "enjoyed" in their neighborhoods in South America to this particular chunk of North America.

And we're supposed to welcome them. We're supposed to celebrate them. We're supposed to accept them as they are and make no expectations of them with regard to assimilating into our culture.

Which might not be the worst thing in the world if we at least were importing cultures worth respecting.

I refuse to respect a culture that will kill a girl who was raped because it was somehow her fault. I refuse to respect a culture that treats women as not even second-class citizens, that will beat them and murder them because they don't want to wear the outward trappings of the predominant faith. I refuse to accept cultures that view criminality as not just a way of life, but their due simply because they were born on the short end of the stick.

Cultures that stand for everything the American system is meant to oppose shouldn't be celebrated, much less tolerated – yes, even by the true meaning of the term, rather than the leftist's version that really just means celebrate, but with a softer veneer – they should be rejected and ejected should they cross the line. I don't care how long they've been here or if they've even achieved citizenship. They shouldn't be held as anything but evidence of why those countries suck so bad that people there want to come here in the first place.

We don't need these people. Coming here should be viewed as a gift, and those who seek to impose their culture on us don't see it that way at all.

Well, that's their right. There's the door.

Don't let the door hit ya where Allah split ya.
