While Left Wants Ban on 'Assault Weapons,' They're the Reason They Won't Get One

Earlier this week, Democratic Senators Adam Schiff and Chris Murphy unveiled their new assault weapon ban bill. This is just the latest iteration of something they've pushed for regularly since the last assault weapon ban sunset in 2006.

Democratic Senator Tammy Duckworth, offering support on X, referred to these as being "designed for war."

And I'm not going to debate her on it.

Nope.

But I am going to point out a few things that perhaps the left needs to keep in mind as we go forward.

They're a big chunk of the reason that so many people have these so-called weapons of war. Popularity started back in the 1990s when the move to ban them first started. It continued as people bought ban-legal versions of these weapons and realized they were great. When the ban sunset, they were firmly entrenched as part of our American gun culture.

And a good thing, too.

All around us, there are signs of violence to come.

Two different people tried to assassinate President Donald Trump during his campaign. Others have openly talked about wanting someone to "volunteer as tribute" to try again. A teacher in Maine made headlines when she called for not just Trump to be killed, but all of his supporters as well.

Teslas are still being defaced, and people who own them are still being harassed.

And the people who are responsible for all of this, on top of having used the power of the government to censor, monitor, and harass American citizens, throwing many in prison for trivial offenses simply because they backed the wrong horse, think that it's for the best that we give up our best means of defending ourselves from them should they take office again.

The very people who want to take our children from us because they believe they're a different gender all of a sudden want you to be unable to resist them when they kick in your door.

These are people who engaged in lawfare against Donald Trump from the moment he left office and did everything they could to scuttle his return. They engaged in lawfare not just against those who engaged in vandalism or violence on January 6, but even elderly grandmothers who just stepped inside the Capitol.

And they want us to give up our so-called assault weapons.

I'm not.

Even if it weren't part of my rights as an American, I still wouldn't give them up.

I refuse to trust the left to not utilize everything they have to punish people like you and me because we refuse to play their game. I refuse to trust them to act in my best interests. I refuse to trust them to do anything but enrich and benefit themselves.

The same party that spent four years lying to us that the human potato in the Oval Office was as sharp as a tack wants us to now trust them with our safety and security. The same party that threw open the gates on the Southern border to allow the worst of the worst in now wants us to give up the tools that will allow us to protect our families from those same monsters.

They'll get none of mine.

They'll never get them.

They're not worthy of any such trust, so even without it being my God-given right to keep and bear arms, they'll never have my guns while I still draw breath.

The left is just one of many reasons why I'll never give them up.

I keep them to guard against monsters.

I keep them to guard against the leftists.
