Many liberal politicians continue to complain about “innocents” being abused by federal agents. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s comments are representative of the verbal attacks federal ICE agents face.
The governor claims, “We received numerous confirmed reports of federal agents from ICE, Customs, and Border Control, abusing their power, intimidating innocent civilians, and waging war on our people. All of this has been aimed at causing chaos and mayhem…. This is about sewing fear and intimidation and division among Americans…. Our residents and visitors who are shopping and eating are made to feel unsafe by the jackbooted thugs roaming around a peaceful downtown.”
With such comments, it is no wonder that agents doing their job in left-controlled cities and states have received a significant increase in violent attacks in recent months. If Democrat leaders truly want to stop this “chaos and mayhem” on their “peaceful streets,” they have one clear choice. They can agree to help federal agents in every way possible to detain and deport the worst criminal undocumented aliens. It’s time to work together to deport “the worst of the worst” who were allowed to enter our country through President Biden’s open border policy.
We may not agree on whether to send all illegals back to where they came from, but a majority agree that all illegals involved in criminal activity should be deported. Strong poll results call out for a non-partisan position most from both parties can get behind—Remove the Worst First!

Newsweek reported an AP-NORC poll, conducted from January 9 to 13 among 1,147 adults, that found that 83 percent of Americans support deporting migrants living in the U.S. illegally who have been convicted of a violent crime, while only 6 percent would oppose doing so. A non-partisan, united commitment to detain and deport criminal illegal immigrants would make a huge difference for federal agents charged with doing their job.
It’s equally clear, that commitment to deport all undocumented immigrants is less clear. The poll found that 43 percent support doing so with 37 percent against. Americans don’t like deportations that separate families. They don’t want to see good people who have a history of contributing to our country deported, even if they came here illegally.
Even If Americans supported deporting all the undocumented, it would take decades to return all of the illegal immigrants who have crossed the border in the last four years. Even with the valiant efforts of our ICE agents, the number deported is limited. In September, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that over 400,000 "illegal aliens" had been deported in the first 250 days of the Trump administration, along with 1.6 million who "self-deported".
If ICE agents started aggressively finding and deporting illegal immigrants who are serving in our homes, contributing to our communities, or attending our churches, many Americans would voice their strong displeasure. That could change votes.
It’s time to cooperate where Americans agree. If people are tired of the mayhem and chaos of ICE agents aggressively finding, detaining, and deporting the undocumented, it’s time to help rather than hinder their efforts in dealing with the worst of the worst. Local authorities could agree to notify ICE of illegals arrested and in custody. Instead of letting them out or hiding them from agents, they could work together to have them deported. Let’s agree to remove the worst first!
It’s certainly true that not all crimes are done by illegal immigrants. But any crime is unacceptable if authorities could have helped stop those crimes by removing those who have a history of criminal violence before another crime is committed.
Thankfully, well over 1.6 million illegal immigrants have taken advantage of leaving the country with the promise that future legal immigration might be possible. Flying them back to their former country for free and giving them $1,000 certainly has helped convince some of them to leave. We should all applaud such constructive programs.
Most Americans from both parties support legal immigration. The gate to America should still be open and available. Make citizenship hard but possible to earn after years of responsible contribution to our country. We do need more citizens, but we want skilled, responsible people who embrace our values and laws and want to become proud Americans.
Governor Pritzker and Governor Newsom, instead of fighting ICE and contributing to the chaos you say you hate, it’s time to work together with ICE to help find and deport the worst that have helped make our city streets unsafe. It’s time to choose cooperation over chaos!

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
