Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are kicking off their administration by repeatedly calling for unity. Biden has even chosen the theme of ‘United America’ for his inauguration. If you believe this is an honest call for Democrats to embrace all of their fellow Americans, I’d like to tell you about some cheap land for sale in Florida.

In the weeks leading up to the 2020 presidential election, some Democrat officials and a few of their allies in media advocated creating lists of Trump supporters. Their clear intention is revenge. Democrats who hate President Trump with the heat of a thousand suns want to punish anyone who supported him. Does that sound like unity to you?

It gets worse.

Last week, Rick Klein, the political director of ABC News said in a since-deleted tweet, “Trump will be an ex-president in 13 days. The fact is that getting rid of Trump is the easy part. Cleansing the movement he commands is going to be something else.”

Cleansing? Really?

Do these sound like the words of someone who wants “unity” with the half of the country that voted for Trump?

Democrat Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri has introduced a resolution to investigate and potentially remove House members who challenged the results of the 2020 election.

Are you feeling the unity yet?

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris should look back to the left’s reaction to Trump’s inauguration in 2017. Just days after “protesters” lit fires and physically assaulted Trump supporters, the aging pop star Madonna told an adoring crowd at the first Women’s March that she had “thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House.”

In May of 2017, comedian Kathy Griffin posed for a photograph holding up an effigy of Donald Trump’s severed head, complete with fake blood.

A month later, actor Johnny Depp asked a crowd at the Glastonbury Arts Festival, “When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?” The audience cheered.

In the same month, a production of Shakespeare’s ‘Julius Caesar’ in New York’s Central Park featured Trump portrayed as the titular character who is stabbed to death.

Five nights a week for over three years on MSNBC, Rachel Maddow pushed the now thoroughly debunked conspiracy theory that Trump colluded with Russia to get elected. Progressives across the country tuned in, pushing her show to the heights of cable news ratings. Her clips were shared on social media with no warnings saying her claims were disputed.

CNN moved even further to the left than MSNBC, becoming a one-stop destination for anyone who believed that Trump’s election was illegitimate, and even criminal.

Meanwhile, Democrats in Congress were already laying the groundwork for the Mueller Investigation and ultimately, their failed attempt at impeachment.

Unity was never even a consideration. Before Trump was even sworn in as president, a new narrative was being spread by Democrats, the liberal media, and their activist supporters on the ground, and the key word was “resistance.”

As a party, Democrats have done nothing to earn unity over the last four years. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are two of their worst offenders.

Joe Biden has repeatedly pushed the “fine people on both sides” hoax of Charlottesville with no correction from the media.

Kamala Harris said she wouldn’t trust a COVID-19 vaccine developed under Trump, and then patted herself on the back by taking it in front of TV cameras without apology.

Social media companies which now control America’s online public square, are banning people for merely questioning the integrity of the 2020 election. Twitter has even silenced President Trump.

This is not a call for unity, it is a demand for submission.

Biden and Harris call for unity while their allies on cable news and in Silicon Valley warn you that anything other than your acceptance of the outcome of the 2020 election will be punished by your cancellation as a person.

If you are high-ranking enough as a public figure, you may even find an angry mob at your front door, as Senator Josh Hawley did recently, and Tucker Carlson a few years ago.

Democrats and their allies in media have no business calling for unity and anyone with an ounce of common sense knows it. Silencing critics is not a sign of good faith.

Unity must be earned.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are already a day late and a dollar short.
