Antony Beevor is a British historian, and a good one. He has written several histories, mostly military history, and he tends to be very objective in his writing, which too many historians today are not. If you enjoy reading history, especially military history, I recommend Beevor’s books.
One of his books is simply entitled “Russia,” where he examines the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the Bolshevik takeover of that country. The book, as you would expect, contains much information about the ideas of Vladimir Lenin, the first dictator of the “new Russia” (eventually USSR), and Beevor’s analysis of Lenin is excellent. Let me share with you three quotes from Beevor’s book about Lenin, about Lenin’s leftist, communist philosophy, and you compare any parallels between Lenin and today’s American Democratic Party.
Quote One: “He [Lenin] was also prepared to receive secret funds from the Kaiser’s government to fund propaganda. As far as he was concerned, anything that assisted a revolution which could bring the Bolsheviks to power was permissible.”
There was nothing Lenin would not do, including taking money from Russia’s enemies, to take power. Nothing.
The only “good” that Lenin believed in was whatever benefited the Bolshevik Party and its Revolution. If it helped the party, it was good; if it didn’t, it was bad, and that certainly meant lying as much as possible, when necessary. Lenin once said, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.”
There is no morality to the Left, folks, except leftist morality, the morality THEY create, when needed, in order to gain power. No tradition, no religion, no absolutes truly exist to guide mankind or dictate our behavior. Again, read Beevor: “anything that assisted a revolution which could bring the Bolsheviks to power was permissible.”

Can you say “Democrats”?
Quote Two: “Lenin did not make the mistake of revealing what communist society would be like. All state power and private property, he claimed, would be transferred into the hands of the Soviets, or ‘councils of workers,’ as if they were to be independent bodies and not just puppets of the Bolshevik leadership. The peasants were encouraged to believe the land would be theirs to own and work as they saw fit.”
Do you think the Democrats are truly telling Americans what they want for the country, what socialism is, how they intend to rule if they get the power they crave? They cannot tell the truth about this. They must let the people think they will “share” in the “power” through some kind of phony “democracy.” I have explained, in article after article after article, exactly what leftism is, what it believes, and where it came from historically and philosophically. About the only honest Democrat out there is Zohran Mamdani, and a lot of Democrats are trying to shush him because he speaks too much of what they really believe. But he’s probably going to be the next mayor of New York City. “Lenin did not make the mistake of revealing what communist society would be like” (Beevor). Today’s Democrats, largely, aren’t making that mistake, either.
Quote Three: “His public speeches focused instead on hate figures, those he could label ‘parasites’… he believed firmly in the necessity of civil war to achieve absolute power, yet there was little hint of the class genocide to come.”
Lenin made it very plain—and Democrats in America do, too, in their words and actions—that hate is the foundation of their philosophy.
Lenin wrote, “We must hate—hatred is the basis of communism. Children must be taught to hate their parents if they are not communists…hatred is truly the ‘beginning of all wisdom.’”
Lenin labeled his enemies “parasites,” “fatcats,” “spiders,” “bloodsuckers,” and a host of like epithets. The Democrats like to use “Nazi” and “fascist” (interesting how they never call Trump or his supporters “communists,” even though the latter killed hundreds of millions more than the Nazis and fascists did). Lenin got his hate from his master, Karl Marx.
Richard Wurmbrand, a Romanian pastor who spent 14 years tortured in a communist prison camp, wrote, “There is no support for the view that Marx entertained lofty social ideals about helping mankind. Marx hated any notion of God or gods. He determined to be the man who would kick out God.”
Marx said, “My object is to dethrone God and destroy capitalism.”
Can you say “Democrats”?
Consider some examples of what Lenin’s leftists did to the Russian people. Innumerable innocents were imprisoned and tortured. Some people’s hands were soaked with gloves on in boiling water and then the gloves were ripped off, pulling off the skin. Belts were made from the skin off people’s backs. Countless people had their arms and legs broken and then were tossed in the river. Hundreds of people were put on a barge with a large leak in it in the middle of the Volga River. The people had to continually bail out the water. Eventually, after a few days, too weary to bail anymore, they all sank and drowned. Some people were tied up with barbed wire and eventually washed up on beaches. One old colonel was roasted alive in the furnace of a locomotive. Another was tossed headfirst into a ship’s furnace. “Who should feel sorry for killing a counterrevolutionary?” one murderer said. How many leftist Democrats are truly sorry Charlie Kirk is dead?
I’m limited in space but books could be (and have been) written about the horrors of the communist Left all over the world. They are inhuman monsters with no conscience, and no sense of right or wrong, except what will enhance their cause and power. This is the historical foundation of America’s Democratic Party today, but they’ll never tell you that. And if they ever get the totalitarian power they crave, it will be too late because the rest of us will be dead.
We’d better start learning from history.
