My Message to Joe Biden

I went to a military recruiting office once when I was young (mid-to-late ‘70s, best I can recall).  It was an Air Force recruiting station (best I can recall...).  Anyway, I talked to the recruiter about enlisting, but when I told him that I am totally blind in my left eye (have been from birth), he said the military wouldn’t accept me.  I’m not sure why the American military didn’t/doesn’t accept one-eyed people—I didn’t ask, or, if I did, I don’t remember what he said.  I’m sure they have legitimate reasons—but, still, I was disappointed I couldn’t join.  But then, if I had a dime for every disappointment I have had in my life, I might be able to live in a cheap Hooverville in Joe Biden’s America.

Long story short, I finished up my university degree, got a Master’s in history, almost a PhD, but never finished because I felt guilty about asking my wife to work while I was having fun going to school.  I travelled the world a bit—to England, China (the first time in 1990-1991), South Korea (twice), and back to China from 2011-2022 until I got tired of being tyrannized by their tyrannical government and robbed by their thieving employers.  So, I came to Thailand last year at the invitation of a friend.  I like Thailand, and health-permitting, plan to stay here awhile.  I enjoy seeing different cultures and places, and I don’t think I have enough dimes to live in Joe Biden’s America right now anyway.

My father was in the army.  He got in on the tail-end of World War II in the Pacific, being stationed in the Philippines for awhile.  He was a dedicated, patriotic American and, honestly, I got my patriotism and conservatism from him.  I apparently was the black sheep of the family.  My brother joined the Air Force, but he hates America now, about as far-left as a person can be though he calls himself a “moderate.”  That’s a hoot.  My sister is sweet, but she went left, too.  I learned what truth was 50 years ago and I haven’t left it.  Truth doesn’t change.  People do.  People like my brother and sister, and many, many, many people in the United States now.

I wanted to join the military because I admire that institution.  I greatly respect people like Colonel Kurt Schlichter and the millions of others who sacrificed, sometimes their lives, to protect me and the freedoms I enjoyed—freedoms like going to school, getting educated, and travelling the world.  And, like the good Colonel, I am utterly sickened at what the hate-America Leftist crowd is doing to one of the greatest institutions the world has ever seen.  We wouldn’t be free, folks, if it wasn’t for the American military.  Those soldiers protected us countless times in the past.  The soldiers aren’t the problem today, and never have been.  I salute them with all of my being.  The problem is the Barack Obamas, the Joe Bidens, the now-gutless military brass who have become politicized and decided to go “woke” rather than defend the Constitution, the American people, and the American way of life—which so many soldiers died to defend.  I almost want to cry when I think of those GREAT Americans who died for me.  I want to cry right after I finish vomiting on “Rachel” Levine and Joe Biden.

September 11 should stir every American’s heart.  It doesn’t stir the Left; they are trying to find ways to blame America for it.  And every other sin and crime in the world.  I find it interesting that we don’t hear a whole lot any more about the “radical Islamic” threat; it is still out there, but certainly not as much in the news as it was 10 and 20 years ago.  Our leaders turned tail and ran from Afghanistan in a totally inept withdrawal, which is fully representative of the utter incompetence of our current American leadership, political and military.  Thirteen GREAT Americans died because of Joe Biden’s stupid decisions and cowardice, and nobody in the military—except those thirteen GREAT Americans—ever suffered any consequences for Biden’s ineptitude.  I have a message for Joe Biden:  I wanted to join the American military in the 1970s.  I would NEVER join your military now.  I absolutely HATE to say that, but that is how little respect I have—actually, I have none—for our “Commander-in-Chief” and the military he is doing everything he can to destroy.

No, we don’t hear as much about “radical Islam” as we used to.  That’s because the greatest enemy we face right now is not outside our borders, but within.  Yes, we need to keep an eye on China, Russia, radical Islam, every possible enemy out there, because eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.  But it won’t do a bit of good to defeat any, or all, external enemies if we let the radical Leftists in our own country turn America into a godless, socialist cesspool of hedonism, debauchery, and submission to tyranny.  I would not, even if I could, join Joe Biden’s military now.  But I will fight for America, and I’m doing what I can to oppose the greatest enemy America has ever faced—the barbarians in Washington like Biden who will take away our freedoms if we don't fight them.  That is a fight I will fight as long as the God above gives me breath.

I mentioned Colonel Schlichter.  Most of you read his articles, I’m sure.  He is confident we are going to turn this around and eventually be victorious.  I don’t currently share his optimism, but I sure hope he’s right.  I’ll stand with him and fight, along with the other great Townhall columnists.  And you other GREAT Americans.
