Reporting on the Mirror – CNN
The foundering network may lose its figure-headcase.
The formal announcement came in that CNN is doing away with 200 jobs in its news division, but Mark Thompson tried to soften this by saying over the next year it will be hiring nearly as many for its expansion into streaming and digital formats. It also formalized its scheduling changes, with Wolf Blitzer moving to mornings, Kasie Hunt to a 4 pm slot, and Jake Tapper’s “The Lead” essentially filling in where Blitzer had been.
What was notable is seeing the mention of Jim Acosta, who earlier reports had gone to the outcast schedule position of midnight to 2 am, and being relocated to Angeles in the process – but instead, we were given this nugget:
A CNN spokesperson said that they are “in active discussions with Jim about a new time slot and will have more information to share soon.”
TRANSLATION: Acosta is playing the diva and is upset with this new arrangement.

Now comes word that it looks like this is escalating, to the point that Jim is threatening to leave the network. We are guessing that he is not in possession of too much leverage on the matter, as it sure sounds as if the demotion was intended to dispatch the vituperative anchor or compel him to quit as a result.

DNC PR Firm – POLITICO
So that thing they denied was happening was actually happening?
In a bit of a surprising revelation, a pair of former POLITICO reporters have announced that they experienced editors slow-walking or killing off entirely stories surrounding Hunter Biden in 2020. On her video cast, Tara Palmeri sat down with Marc Caputo to discuss the times working at their former outlet when items they worked on, centered on Hunter Biden, had been smothered by the outlet.
Palmeri had a difficult time getting her stories on Hunter and his gun crimes, and Caputo was blocked from putting out a piece on Biden having tax liens on his property as well as being told outright that there was to be no mention at all on the laptop, including on the reporter’s own social media accounts. Caputo also notes that POLITICO heavily pushed the letter from 51 intel officials that was supposed to dispute the validity of Hunter’s computer. This, while Palmeri was in Florida tracking down the repair shop details.
This is a rather damning indictment of POLITICO, but we cannot allow the reporters to entirely move the responsibility on the outlet. It seems a matter of convenient timing that they feel free to expose this today, now that Biden is entirely dismissed from politics. How much of these details have they covered in the time since they left POLITICO?

Anti-Social Media – AXIOS
“We tried all of our past tactics that have not worked, why aren’t they working?!”
This week, we sat back to behold the press as they attempted to brand Elon Musk a Nazi for the way he had genuflected with affection to the inauguration crowd. Musk responded with jovial mockery, the general public responded with examples of leftists giving the exact same kind of gesture, and the entire effort was a neutered dose of desperation.
As a result, here is Axios mewling over the fact that its attempt at slandering Musk did not end up working. And it wonders why the impact of the press is diminishing on a regular basis.

Glossary Over Things – NEWSWEEK
Eventually, they will pin down a euphemism that works.
With Donald Trump following through with his campaign promise to deport illegal immigrants in the country, the press has been consistently dismayed at these actions. In order to express their outrage, however, the journalists need to avoid some hardcore facts. Starting with the small detail that most of those being rounded up in raids are those with serious criminal charges and convictions, many of them recidivists in the process. That states and cities are not complying with detaining these serious offenders is another issue.
But in the complaint that many immigrants are being swept up while not having committed crimes, the press needs to avoid noting that simply by being in the country illegally they are, in fact, criminals. As a result, they have to cook up new terms to describe illegal aliens so as not to display this contradiction. The latest example was shared by Ron DeSantis team member Julia Friedland, showing a message from Newsweek reporter Jordan King who was opting to describe the illegals as “unauthorized citizens”. Apparently, we need to inform Ms. King that if they are here in what you call an unauthorized condition, by definition they cannot be classified as a citizen. See how that works?
Well, this is a new one.

How can that be?

Pre-Written Field Reports – NBC10, BOSTON
Could you quote anyone who is upset by this?
The initial round of immigrant raids enforced by ICE agents was seen in Boston this week, as they rounded up a series of serious, violent offenders. Local station NBC Channel 10 covered the raids and declared that there were “growing concerns” about these roundups.

Considering that those being targeted to this point are mostly repeat offenders, sex crime felons, gang members, and the sort, who besides the criminals or the press are the ones taking offense to these arrests?
