Every year, the First Lady unveils the White House Christmas decorations, a chance to showcase the spirit of the season, celebrate joy and unity, and bring attention back to the true meaning of the season itself: the birth of Jesus Christ. And every year, it seems, Jill Biden's interpretation leaves America wondering: Who signed off on this?
Last year, the American people bore witness to the “nutty nutcracker” faux pas, which was bursting at its seams with liberal politicization. This year is not much better.
While the White House released its “A Season of Peace and Light" celebration, this year's theme appears to be "A Circus of Chaos." From clashing color palettes to a carousel in The Blue Room, the decorations resemble a carnival more than a celebration of Christmas. The oversized baubles, the tone-deaf artisanal bread spread in The China Room, and the teddy bear driving a truck in The Grand Foyer—it’s a spectacle, all right. But every good circus needs a clown. With none to be seen, I nominate recently-pardoned Hunter Biden.
But it's not just a critique of design. This year's holiday display symbolizes the Biden administration: uncoordinated, confusing, and lacking cohesion. The White House's circus-like decor feels eerily reflective of the chaos that has characterized much of the presidency—a parade of policies that left the American people dangling from a trapeze they wish they could get off of.
Jill Biden made a tasteless decision to decorate the China Room with bountiful loaves of bread, "reminding guests of the peaceful, patient, and loving process of baking bread.” But, under her husband’s presidency, nearly two-thirds of middle-class Americans were struggling financially under ongoing inflation. Information from Biden’s U.S. Department of Agriculture released numbers in October 2023 revealing that there were 17 million households that had trouble putting food on the table. In addition, Biden's U.S. Department of Defense said that roughly 24 percent of active-duty service members experience food insecurity. Instead of using bread as Christmas decor, give a loaf to an American family who has to go without this holiday season.

In The Grand Foyer of the White House sits a stuffed teddy bear in a bright red truck. The question I dare to ask is, is the truck a diesel? It is comical that the teddy bear could drive a diesel, but Americans were expected to settle for electric. Ironically, the truck is not hooked up to an electric charging station due to his administration's desperate efforts to electrify the transportation sector during the last four years. He led auto manufacturers astray, and they were forced to backtrack when they shifted production from gas to electric, and demand fell short. Subjecting the American people to potential car mileage rules and expecting two-thirds of car sales to be electric cars within a matter of years when we don’t have enough chargers to support the growth and Americans can’t afford them (nor do they want them) seems illogical. But then again, in the Biden circus, there is no ringleader to be found.
Amongst the chaos of the White House Christmas circus is The Gold Star Tree, dedicated to Gold Star families with the names of fallen service members written on gold star ornaments on accompanying trees. Perhaps what hurts most is Biden's lack of support for and inability to lead our nation's military. In 2021, 13 service members were killed in a bomb attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, and no Christmas tree will ever bring those Americans back. This past July, family members of the 13 service members came out supporting President Trump in his presidential race. They slammed the Biden administration about how the withdrawal was handled, and one couple said that they have a son currently serving in the U.S. Army and "do not trust Joe Biden with his life." Recruitment is down, and Biden's woke military is not fit for the cause. The American people have seen what happens when our commander in chief is not fit to lead our military, and the effects are devastating.
Americans long for leadership that reflects stability, vision, and inspiration; if the decorations are any indication, we're currently getting quite the opposite. As we look toward another year, let us all celebrate that strength, prosperity, and opportunity (and better Christmas decor) will soon return to the White House under President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Let's take away the Biden Christmas circus and make way for the parade of elephants.
