I Saw Hospital ER Staff Trashing Charlie Kirk

A recent emergency room experience with COVID was awful, though the worst part was not the virus (thankfully I am ok). But several staffers were, while not checking up on patients, having a negative conversation about Charlie Kirk only two days after he was assassinated. One medical staffer (likely a doctor or a nurse due to the presence they commanded) was doing most of the talking while the three or four others gathered around were agreeing with him.

This employee said, in full hearing view of the patients, 'This was a right-wing thing (Kirk's assassination). This man also said, and the others agreed with him, 'People want guns because they are fun to shoot. Doesn't mean they should be legal.'  The main individual also said about Charlie Kirk that 'He said women shouldn' vote  and 'he was against the civil rights act' clearly insinuating in recycled arguments that Charlie Kirk was misognystic and racist, which I can personally attest that he was not and any open-minded person could come to that conclusion of after watching the many videos of his exchanges online, including on the subjects of race and gender.

It was tempting to tell the hospital staff about my knowing Charlie Kirk but I was pretty fatigued and also figured they might give me less care based off their already calloused attitude.

It was not always this way.

When President Reagan was shot in 1981 he joked to his surgeons, 'Please tell me you’re Republicans.'The staff chuckled and the doctor who responded, who was actually a Democrat, said "Today, Mr. President, we are all Republicans."

It is a terrible thing to trash about a political and/or religious opponent within listening view of several patients. Even if a patient agreed with the false claims the medical professional was saying about Charlie Kirk, it might cause negative consequences to their vital signs by bringing up a passionate situation to them.

After being in contact with the hospital management, they said while my attending nurse was located, who was a part of that conversation, the nurse does not recall such a discussion taking place. The management says they cannot locate the lead person of the conversation either despite being given a very specific date, time and physical description of the person.

This is highly implausible. The staff is cowardly, unlike Charlie Kirk who braved death and threats to simply have, as Townhall Editor Katie Pavlich said, “conversations and debate.”

One of the best quotes from And The Band Played On was “When doctors start acting like businessman, who can the people turn to for doctors?” The same holds true in this political climate. When doctors and medical professionals start acting like political figures in the workplace, who can the people turn to for doctors?

The amount of ignorance and deceit in this world is sad. So is the amount of hatred. This is the kind of hatred that Charlie Kirk fought against and gave his life for. If this level of hatred was overheard in a hospital room in Washington D.C. regarding someone such as Malcolm X, immediately after his assassination, the level of outrage would be astounding (This despite Malcolm X’s statements of “by any means necessary” and “the white man. He’s an enemy to all of us”…statements Charlie Kirk never came close to uttering. But we as Conservatives do not burn our cities over grievances and, unlike the left, nor do a large percentage of us believe political violence is acceptable.

I do not believe for a minute the doctors who cared for Charlie Kirk were talking politics when working to save his life. It would not have mattered to them. This is what basic human and American behavior is. American Soldier Medics and Navy Corpsman even provide aid to wounded enemies of our great nation. And Charlie Kirk would not have cared what race, gender, claimed gender or political affiliation was if he was attending to a patient. Surely people in less trying situations can do the same thing as there is no place for politics in the hospital.

May the Lord forgive all of them for they know not what they do.
