As we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, expect an influx of “think pieces” about how the “Muslim community” has been impacted since 19 members of it murdered 3,000 innocent Americans. It won’t be phrased that way; it never is, but that’s what happened. If I, as a white guy, am responsible for whatever whining grievance some leftists ascribe to a long-dead white guy, why can’t the same standards be held for everyone?
They shouldn’t be, by the way – sharing characteristics with someone is not the same as guilt, but when you’re an idiot with nothing worthwhile to offer anyone, identity politics is as good a default as any.
And identity politics is all Democrats offer. Well, that and hatred.
Which brings us to the Middle East and the Palestinians. There has never been a group of people more revered on the left, no matter what awful things they do.
Elect a terrorist group to lead you in your first shot at independent rule? No problem! Leftists love it.
Commit a horrific terrorist attack, killing 1,200 and kidnapping hundreds (not to mention that rapes)? Democrats can’t get enough of it!
Seriously, these people elected Hamas in their first chance at self-rule, and I’m supposed to care that their lives suck? They elected terrorists who took billions of dollars in international aid and stole it. There’s a reason the leaders of Hamas are rich, and it’s the same reason Yasser Arafat’s daughter is a billionaire: they stole it.
If you’re dumb enough to elect people who will rip you off, after decades of being “led” by people who ripped you off, why should anyone care?
With the money Gaza got, they could have transformed the land. Instead, when Israel rightly retaliated to their terror attack, one of the worries was they’d cut off the water to Gaza. That seemed impossible, as Gaza has a large coastline. But then you have to realize that their terrorist leaders didn’t bother to use any money to build desalination plants, leaving them dependent on their “oppressors” for water. How stupid must you be to leave yourself at the mercy of people “committing a genocide” against you for the most basic thing needed to survive?
It's a special kind of stupid. Especially considering they had the money they needed to build them, they chose instead to use it to buy bombs, weapons and dig tunnels into Israel to hide and use those weapons. If you set the ball on the tee for someone, choose the club after having trained them on how to use it, and they then proceed to shove it, along with their head, where the sun does not shine, why would you care what comes next for them?
Democrats care. Deeply.
In fact, many Democrats campaigning for election or reelection talk more about “defunding Israel” than they do about helping anyone who can legally vote for them. They care more about people who would not be able to pass a basic background check to get a visitor’s visa than a kid graduating high school in their district who can’t read or do basic math.
Democrats view Palestinians like they’re pets.
Weird, considering none of the neighboring countries is willing to take any of them in.
Jordan did once, and to thank them, the Palestinians tried to overthrow the government. Why do you think Egypt has a tighter border and a more secure wall on the border it shares with Gaza than it does on the border it shares with Israel? They know what the problem is.
Sure, it’s not EVERY Palestinian, but it is every Palestinian leader and the far too many average residents who simply accept their corrupt and evil leadership. Leftist Democrats view that corruption and evil as a feature, not a bug. They are a cover for the left’s long hatred of Jews.
Just as popcorn is a socially acceptable delivery method for the delicious combination of butter and salt, pretending to care about the Palestinians is the perfect cover for a burning anti- Semitism that has lived on the left since the days when they founded the KKK.
That’s what makes the Palestinians so special; they allow Democrats to appear “compassionate” while spewing bile that has only changed from its original German since the 1930s.
