Our legal team recently sat face-to-face with four persecuted Christians on death row inside a prison in Pakistan.

Shahzad. Amoon. Ahsan. Qaisar.

We were on the ground to perform wellness checks, update the families, and prepare for their legal defense.

For 45 minutes, we talked, prayed, and shared a simple meal prepared by one client's wife – a small act of love in the middle of unimaginable hardship.

Take action with the ACLJ and defend dying Christians in Pakistan: Sign our petition.

But the reality is sobering. Justice is being denied, and their families are losing precious years that they can never get back – it's a horrific injustice.

For example, Christian brothers Amoon and Qaisar have already spent more than a decade in squalid death row conditions as their case is repeatedly delayed – they are sentenced to hang.

And yet, even from behind bars, their faith remains unshaken. Qaisar wrote a powerful letter to our team and each and every one of you who has prayerfully stood by him in chains:

"Greetings in the name of Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord who is providing all of our needs through you all. All the efforts you all are doing to make us free and to make our life easier means lot to us all. There is no doubt that promise of crown of life is certainly for people like you all. What else you deserve for such good deeds, keeping pain of being imprisoned away from us, and to be the voice of voiceless. Life in prison is not easy, but you all and love of our Jesus Christ kept us happy and satisfied. Me and my younger brother Amoon have spent almost 11 years behind bars. Still our morale is high and our faith in our Lord is firm because we know it does not matter how big and strong is our enemy. We believe if God is on our side, who could stand against us? We are satisfied that by the grace of Lord and with the help of our brave soldiers of Christ, that are you all, we will soon win our freedom from the hands of unjust world.

Again thank you all for your miraculous help and efforts.

Your Brother in Christ,

Qaisar Ayub"

From our visit, what stood out most wasn't despair. It was faith. Despite everything, these men are not broken. They are holding daily prayer and Bible study inside the prison. They are encouraging one another. They are living their faith boldly – even there. Even in chains, their faith is undeniable.

One detail captures this powerfully. In prison, Shahzad has been entrusted with responsibility by prison authorities – overseeing fellow inmates and helping manage daily needs. Like Joseph in Scripture, his faith and character stand out. Even in what could be his final moments on earth, he is choosing to serve.

This is why our legal team is intensifying its work – preparing their defense, demanding their release, and pressing their cases in international forums, including the United Nations.

Their appeals continue to be repeatedly delayed. We fear time is running out. During the visit, our team made one thing clear to each of them: They are not alone.

Being a Christian should never be a death sentence, but they have not given up. Neither can we. Their lives depend on what we do next – and we are not backing down. Join us as we defend these devoted brothers in Christ.
