Way back in early 2023 when it became obvious that former President Donald Trump was going to run once again for the Republican nomination for president in 2024, I was opposed to him.  Not because I was displeased with what he accomplished during his first term in office.  But I believed that he could not win the 2024 election.  A belief that was obviously proven wrong by the November election results, and President Trump’s resounding victory over then Vice President Kamala Harris.

I just feared that Trump couldn’t win, and I was obsessed with preventing the Democrats from remaining in the White House and fulfilling Barack Hussein Obama’s promise to “fundamentally transform the United States of America”.  Clearly an intended transformation into a socialist-communist totalitarian regime.

I was hopeful that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would win the nomination and move forward into the November election as the Republican nominee.  I felt that he was the Republican that had the best chance of defeating any candidate put forth by the Democrats. I also believed that based on his record in Florida DeSantis would do a good job as the nation’s Chief Executive.  I still think Governor DeSantis would make a fine president one day, though who knows if he will ever get the chance.

Well contrary to my concerns, President Trump indeed did win the election, and he has hit the ground running since being sworn in for his second non-consecutive term.  Admittedly the bar had been lowered to such a level by Trump’s predecessor Joe Biden and his collection of misfits, that anyone capable of exchanging oxygen in and out could likely do a better job than what was done during the Biden years.

But President Trump has far exceeded the expectations that many may have had for his second term.  Trump has surrounded himself with exceptionally talented people who are loyal to the president, and who themselves are hitting the ground running to carry out the direction for the country that has been set forth by President Trump.

It’s actually entertaining to watch the Democrats screeching and wailing on the television news every day about President Trump and his Elon Musk-led DOGE discovering decades and billions of dollars of fraud, waste and abuse.

Much of that fraud and abuse at the hands of the same Democrats who are flailing about like one of those inflatable tube guys one sees outside of a business advertising a sale.  They have become nothing more than a carnival freak show led by New York Senator Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, along with other ‘circus clowns’ that they surround themselves with.

The pace being set by President Trump and his administration is almost supersonic.  He is moving so fast and making so many changes that Democrats and their allies in the so-called “mainstream media” simply can’t keep up.

Though she’s never been considered “mainstream” by any stretch of the imagination, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow’s snarky comments are already outdated even before she utters her nonsense.  President Trump and the American people have already move onto bigger and better things leaving poor Rachel in their dust.

With breakneck speed President Trump through his Border Czar Tom Homan has advanced the effort to hunt down and arrest the countless criminals and terrorists that Joe Biden let walk into our country during his four years asleep at the wheel.  Considering the millions allowed in by Joe Biden the effort to hunt them all down will take time, but much progress has already been made to round up some of the worst.  America becomes safer every day as a result of President Trump’s policies and Tom Homan’s relentless efforts.

While opinions may differ on the war in Ukraine, few Americans believe that continuing to watch Ukrainians and Russians slaughter each other with no end in sight is in the best interest of either country, or of Europe in general.  Certainly not in America’s interest either.  President Trump is moving a peace process forward, whether everyone involved likes it or not.  Trump has a better vision for the region’s future, and that doesn’t include an endless and unwinnable war.

The Biden Administration’s incompetence and inability to see a way forward in reaching peace was absolutely provincial.  While the slaughter continued, the Biden Administration kept pumping more and more of American taxpayer dollars into the conflict without any realistic strategic goals.  They simply did not know what the hell they were doing.

As President Trump ends his first month in office it’s become obvious that he intends to keep his foot on the gas pedal and not let up.  The Democrats are off balance and simply unable to muster a solid front against the onslaught of changes coming out of the Trump White House.

There are no original thinkers in the Democrat Party anyway, so Democrats have nothing to offer to counter President Trump.  The pace being set by President Trump is something the Democrats simply can’t keep up with.  President Trump knows this.

So I for one will acknowledge that I was wrong about President Trump being able to win the election.  President Trump did win, and he is doing one hell of a job.  I’m loving what I’m seeing, and instead of the doom and gloom that I felt for the last four years under Joe Biden, I now wake up every morning and look forward to each day as a new day in America.
