It’s Not Cancel Culture, It’s Consequences

The odds of you being a ghoul who’d cheer the murder of anyone are pretty slim, or at least that’s what we all thought. Now we know better – we now know that about half the country included a large swath of the public who gets sexually aroused at the prospect of their political opponents being murdered. They get giddy, sickeningly so, over children growing up without a parent. We almost need to create a word beyond evil to describe this mentality.

What Democrats are trying to use is one of their favorites: cancel culture.

It’s funny to watch people scramble to try to justify horrible things said by horrible people, simply because they’re on your political team. It’s a lot, I’d imagine, like fans of the Houston Astros acting like they won the World Series while cheating by stealing signals and tipping off hitters to certain pitches. It’s tempting to do, but nothing can justify the cheating. And nothing can justify scumbaggery.

But what they’re facing isn’t cancel culture, it is consequences. The most shocking part of all of this is not that it appears to be a new concept to them. How does an adult escape consequence their whole life? It doesn’t seem possible.

These aren’t teenagers, or at least aren’t all teenagers. Most I’ve seen are adults, professional adults with careers, or at least they used to have careers. Turns out, as would only be shocking to someone without an understanding that actions have consequences, employers don’t like having people on the payroll who are sociopathic creeps or can snap and cheer the murder of anyone.

Why? Imagine a client meeting where a customer says something remotely conservative, innocuous but conservative, could you trust that employee not to snap and scream they deserved to die or something not quite that extreme? No, you couldn’t. Would you risk it? No, you wouldn’t.

Many of these monsters were doctors and nurses. Of course they were fired, they had to be. How could you ever trust a medical professional to take care of you if you know they are inclined to wish death on someone whose politics differs from theirs? What if you said something that could be interpreted as conservative? Could you trust them after that?

I sure as hell wouldn’t.

Children understand consequences, both as a concept and reality, how did these adults miss it?

No one can throw a rock into a lake and expect there to be no ripples. But when you’re used to being the one who sets the terms, anything that shifts that dynamic is as foreign as Mars.

Well, they’re on Mars now. And one thing I’d notice about these people, as they’re being invited to leave their jobs over their actions, is just how few in the left-wing establishment have condemned their vile actions and words. There isn’t a tweet from Donald Trump that isn’t met with a press release from the DNC about “hate speech,” but cheering cold-blooded murder is met with silence.

Nancy Pelosi couldn’t muster anything? Hakeem Jeffries has nothing? Chuck Schumer finally found something he wouldn’t trample old ladies to get in front of a television camera to talk about?

This isn’t just who Democrats are, it’s who Democrats have always been. They just didn’t have an occasion to cheer murder before. They cheered deaths – to this day it is Spanish Fly to a leftist to mention that Ronald Reagan is gone – but murder was different. Reagan had lived a full life, and even now they get mad that he existed. A 31-year-old father of two did not, which makes them orgasm. It’s gross.

More than gross, it’s “progressive,” it’s who they are. The fact that a segment of the left would celebrate murder is not surprising, the sheer number of leftists who are is the shock. That no one on the left has the character to publicly condemn it beyond saying something like, “Don’t celebrate, it makes us all look bad” tells you everything you need to know about them.

Keep the consequences coming, it makes the country better and while it’s too late for the ghouls cheering now, decency is an important lesson for future generations to learn about, especially since so few seem to be getting a dose of the concept at home or from their friends.
