Is there anyone in America, the Western Hemisphere, or on the planet (past or present) who actively wants more Kamala Harris? Even her voters aren’t interested. Hell, even the people of California didn’t show enough enthusiasm about the prospect of her being their next governor to get her to run. So, who in the hell wants to read her account of how she blew through the gross domestic product of half the countries in the world while getting a tongue bath from the media and still lost an election to a man she and every leftist called Hitler?
Actually, it could be fun.
I can’t imagine Kamala being honest about why she lost. I don’t think she has it in her to figure it out on her own, and it is unlikely anyone in her orbit would have the guts to just tell her that the biggest problem her campaign had was her. The rumor has always been that she has a temper, and shooting the messenger is absolutely on the menu.
You can tell Kamala is not ready to admit the truth by the book’s title: “107 Days.” There is no subtitle about how hard she worked or any of the obstacles she faced, such as being a horrible candidate or being tethered to Joe Biden, just the number of days.
The length of her campaign was irrelevant; the quality of it was the problem. She didn’t answer questions for a long time, and then she couldn’t answer them. After a lifetime in politics, you’d think she’d have an understanding of issues and a set of beliefs about them, but she had neither. The clock wasn’t her enemy; she was.
When the Democrat Party’s elite leaders gifted her the nomination, she had the longest honeymoon in the history of presidential campaigns; it never really ended. The American voters were subject to an endless stream of most favorable framing and glowing profiles of her, most often without her involvement. I’d never before seen a politician refuse to engage with the media and still get such loving coverage, like an abused super-fan. They covered Joe Biden glowingly, but didn’t completely ignore all of his shortcomings. With Kamala, it was like she couldn’t take a bath because she’s only able to walk on water, not sink in it.

With that kind of world around her, protecting her from reality, there is no way Kamala Harris could write an incisive retelling of her campaign.
In the write up for the book on Amazon (I’m not linking to it, if you want it you can find it easily, I don’t want to encourage anyone), the publisher writes, “For the first time, and with surprising and revealing insights, Kamala Harris tells the story of one of the wildest and most consequential presidential campaigns in American history. Your Secret Service code name is Pioneer. You are the first woman in history to be elected vice president of the United States. On July 21, 2024, your running mate, Joe Biden, announces that he will not be seeking reelection. The presidential election will occur on November 5, 2024. You have 107 days. Written with candor, a unique perspective, and the pace of a page-turning novel, 107 Days takes you inside the race for the presidency as no one has ever done before.”
It seems designed to make the fact that she didn’t lose by 100 percent of the vote some kind of accomplishment – “she’s the real winner because she didn’t set herself on fire!” is about as low as the bar can be set. But she did set a billion and a half dollars on fire…
This book is looking to be the longest excuse since Hillary Clinton’s “What Happened” in 2017, only Hillary knew she was lying to protect her “brand,” Kamala likely isn’t aware enough to know that much.
There is an audience for the book, pre-orders on Amazon are very high, so there is an appetite for delusion like there’s an appetite for carnival mirrors in homes to make everyone thinner and taller than they really. But you shouldn’t buy clothing based on them, just like you shouldn't buy history based on what Kamala Harris has to say.
