Health Care Welfare Panic

Now that One Big Beautiful Bill is the law of the land, the panic Democrats tried to inspire will have nowhere to go. What do you do with people so gullible that they believe anything a Democrat says? Some people are simply unreachable, and it's probably best not to waste your time trying. But it’s worth noting that the fear they manufacture in people is not by accident; they do it because it works.

How many times have you heard someone say, “Big drug companies would rather people die than see their profits drop,” or some such variation of that? I’d bet you’ve heard that a lot. It’s a very effective line of attack, as it pits someone in need against a faceless corporation, and doesn’t hate faceless corporations?

The only problem is, if you think about it rationally, what kind of business plan is it where you have your customer base die? Not a growth industry there.

While you can find cases of people genuinely unable to afford their prescriptions or an insurance company screwing over someone, those cases are rare. Surveys showed during the Obamacare debate that health insurance companies were wildly unpopular with the public, but the public had a highly favorable view of their own insurance. Why? Same reason people hate Congress, but largely support their Member of Congress: their experience with them was always good.

Medicaid is no different.

Medicaid is the joint state and federal program for health insurance for the poor, and Democrats have been using the “cuts” to the program in the One Big Beautiful Bill to scare the hell out of their voters in the hope of preventing its passage. It didn’t work, but the panic and fear live on.

This woman – I have no idea who she is, but she posted this video of herself on the Internet, so using it as an example of the videos I’ve seen and the sentiments I’ve heard expressed by Democrats in the media and online is absolutely fine – is terrified that she’s about to lose her Medicaid

She says she’s cutting all family and friends who voted for Donald Trump out of her life because she’s lost her health care, even though the video was posted on the weekend of the 4th of July holiday, which means no one lost anything as the ink on the President’s signature hadn’t dried yet and the government was closed for the holiday.

Also, suppose she’s telling the truth and has some kind of mental disability. In that case, I’m not judging, but that she seems more entitled than anything else is not a disability, but she may well have issues that qualify her for Medicaid – she would not lose her benefits at all.

She shoots down the idea of getting a job while seemingly missing the fact that work requirements for able-bodied adults don’t mean they have to work full time or get health insurance from their employer, just that they work to keep the health care welfare flowing. She could also volunteer 20 hours per week, but that appears to be unknown to her or too much like work to be considered.

But the key to this woman’s issues is laid bare when talking about getting a job and how “It won’t make me f*cking happy.” That’s not the point of work, at least not when you’re starting out. It’s about gaining experience, building skills and talents, and sometimes it's about discovering what you don't want to do with the rest of your life. I’ve had more jobs than most families have had, and each taught me something, even if it was that I didn’t want to do that job ever again.

She does not seem open to that. The Democratic Party has instilled in her the poisonous idea that she is entitled because she exists and that any expectations of her are oppressive. Not only is that destructive to society, but it is also destructive to the individuals who buy into it.

Democrats don’t give a damn. If this woman were to harm herself or someone else, they don’t care. That she’s isolating herself from friends and family means she’s easier pickings for the Brownshirts on the left – the permanently mobilized violent mob that enforces the will of Democrats – and that’s all they care about. If they have to instill more panic in people unable to deal with it or destroy a few lives along the way, so be it. What are they going to do, offer some specific policy proposal in response? That, too, is a little too much like work for them.
