Low-Octane Gaslighting – ABC NEWS

  • Why quote him accurately when you can just run the misquoted segments from the press?!

This week, the media have latched onto one portion of the administration to cast a negative light on the Iran mission Operation Epic Fury. Marco Rubio spent time this week addressing the press and explaining the mission in a way that could only be more simplified if he used crayons and hand puppets. So, of course, they strove to get his words completely buggered and taken out of context.

In answering one question, he mentioned the timing of things had been predicated on Israel's planned strike on the leadership. As he outlined how this meant that the exact timing was the issue, the press clipped portions of his explanation so it had him saying we only went into Iran at the behest of Israel.

Mary Bruce ran with this deception, even though it meant she had to ignore that Israel was striking the building with the Ayatollah at a particular time based on the intelligence we provided them on his location in the already planned mission to disarm that nation.

Both Kinds of Standards – THE BULWARK

  • Not all white supremacists are denigrated equal.

In a grand example of the press holding people to differing levels of accountability based on who they represent – the "It's (D)ifferent" standard – we have the disturbed crew at The Bulwark straining to lend support for a candidate they are supposed to condemn.

With Graham Platner in Maine, they need to place satellite dish-sized blinders on in order to overlook Platner's disturbing Nazi connections. To place this in stark relief, let's just stay on the topic of body ink.

When Pete Hegseth was up for the Secretary of War position, there was The Bulwark getting outraged over his tattoos, involving the Jerusalem Cross, and other religious insignia, but today, we do not need to address Platner's Nazi connections. Nope.

Legalized Press-titution – THE ATLANTIC

  • How many rebrandings does this make for the guy, now?

In the clearest example of this category, The Atlantic does the bidding of Democrats to platform Pete Buttigieg for the 2028 presidential bid. The man who has been platformed for the public in several ways already is now being positioned as a recognized need to appeal to male voters. The best is that in this profile, Graeme Wood actually admits to what he is doing:

Buttigieg has to establish his normal-guy credentials because he is not one, and nowadays, unabashed elitism is harder to pull off.

So, how does Mr. Wood attempt to do this very thing for Mayor-Secretary-Lumberjack-Pete?

The Atlantic portrays the man in a beard, posing in a rural diner, and detailing his time in a Michigan small town, anti-urban life. He discusses things like chopping wood. In a completely believable and not-at-all-contrived conversation, we are given his rustic bona fides when his 4-year-old brings up a Christmas present:

“Papa got an axe for Christmas,” Gus told me. “Technically,” Pete said, “it is a splitting maul.”

See there? He's totally an everyman we can all identify with, on par with Coach Tim Walz and his hunting prowess!

Anti-Social Media – CBC SPORTS

  • If this keeps up, Canada may never win another hockey gold medal!

The fallout after the USA's dual gold medals has exposed the leftist and media (acknowledging the crossover) desire to attack the toxic masculinity in that sport. From compulsory Pride Nights to the massive push for the gay lover show "Heated Rivalry," to all of the charges of sexism aimed at the men's team, it is evident that this is a coordinated push.

Now we get the latest dose of comedy, as the CBC delivers a hand-wringing editorial that declares we need MORE sports reporting to focus on social issues that have little to no bearing on the sports.

It was written by Shireen Ahmed, who describes herself as a "sports activist who focuses on the intersections of racism and misogyny in sports," and is part of the "Burn It All Down" feminist sports podcast, to give you a sense of where this lecture is coming from.

Reporting on the Mirror – THE INDEPENDENTS

  • Looks like Oliver has his newest target for cancellation.

Over at his media-focused newsletter, Oliver Darcy has become inflamed and is on a mission. For reasons known only to his therapist, Darcy has become particularly fixated on Salem Radio host and CNN contributor Scott Jennings.

Ollie has embarked on a tirade meant to see Jennings removed from his former network, and his emotional screed is more than amusing.

Ollie cites that internally, a growing number of people at CNN have become intolerant of the differing views offered up by Scott and have taken to whining about it to management. Of note is Darcy accusing Jennings of misreporting something on the air by attributing it to anonymous sourcing. This has angered many at CNN – ACCORDING TO FOUR OF OLIVER'S ANONYMOUS SOURCES.
