Both Kinds of Standards – MS NOW

  • Show us anyone on the left described thusly, Larry.

There has been much praise heaped on factory worker T.J. Sabula, who recently lost his job after calling President Trump a “pedophile protector” during the president’s recent visit to his place of work. He has cashed in a tidy GoFundMe effort that drew well over three-quarters of a million dollars.

Joining in on the praise for the man is Lawrence O’Donnell, who declares, “T.J. Sabula seized history. T.J. Sabula provided future historians with a vivid look at who Donald Trump really is.”

So Larry had an issue with the president flipping the middle finger and mouthing the words “F you”. Not to take a position of support or offense at Trump’s actions, but we do need to ask the genteel Mr. O’Donnell about his selective outrage over this. He calls Trump’s reaction “childish,” yet in the same monologue, he encourages more Americans to heckle the president with their vulgar accusation.

He declares everyone in America has the 1st Amendment right to shout out “pedophile protector”, then does not the president share in that same right of free expression?

And Larry cannot even cling to the criticism that this is beneath the dignity of a public office holder. Where was Larry accusing Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey of being vulgar when he, just days ago, was saying “Get the F*** out of Minneapolis”? Or the bevy of Democrats who, since Trump came back into office, have postured in front of the cameras and delivered profanities during their political rants?

Gilded Reframe – CNN

  • The best part might be that it was Abby who discredited Abby, herself.

During one of the nightly insufferable roundtable octagon sessions on Abby Phiilp’s show, they were covering the latest example of ICE agents confronting a poor, put-upon citizen who was innocently disrupting their activities. The problem for the hostess is that she came into the talk with a prejudiced approach and presented this to Scott Jennings.

Abby was complaining about a woman who had been stopped by ICE agents, and when Scott was describing the scene, Abby interjected – because she cannot stop herself from doing so when a conservative speaks - and she announced how ICE agents took no action, and the woman was free to go.

Watch as Jennings tosses that detail right back at her, pointing out that the woman was not only never arrested but had not even been detained. Watch as Phillip turns meek as she realizes she had just undercut her own position.

DNC PR Firm – ABC NEWS

  • Just Dave and Mary doing the Democrat rebuttal work on health care.

As the White House released what it called the framework of a healthcare reform plan, on “ABC World News Tonight,” we had David Muir and Mary Bruce tag-teaming to lend every possible criticism of the plan, including criticism of Trump taking so long to get a new proposal out and blaming Republicans for the skyrocketing of premiums and the removal of the subsidies.

You will not hear anything about Obamacare failing to keep costs lower, about the failure of the program as seen in the need to have the government subsidize the costs, and the fact that it was the Democrats who put those subsidies in place only as a bridge during COVID and placed an expiration on those subsidies.

Nope, it is all the GOP’s fault, conveniently enough.

Pre-Written Field Reports – CNN

  • We all know it is white supremacist language, just take his word for it.

In another Abby Phillip Octagon moment, Charles Blow accuses DHS of recruiting ICE agents with white supremacist language. When challenged on what phrasing he accuses others of not knowing what they are talking about.

Then, in a masterstroke of self-ownership, when asked to specify his claim, he had to pull out his phone to find his proof.

The proof: A Nazi rally in the 1930s used an image of George Washington, so today, when DHS uses George Washington in its promotional posts, this proves it is a white supremacist agency.

Anti-Social Media – PEOPLE MAGAZINE

  • The framing shows which disturbing side the outlet has taken.

Two unfortunate events have played out this week, and over at the entertainment rag People Magazine, there was a decided slanted approach revealed. Cartoonist Scott Adams passed away, and then actor/director Tomothy Busfield was briefly on the lam from authorities over charges of child sexual harassment.

When Adams passed away this week People went with this critical headline.

This disgrace was said to be the result of some racially-charged comments he made on a podcast in 2023, leading to his comic strip being dropped by his syndicate.

Then let’s look at the Busfield news. Though it is somewhat acknowledged, he was facing charges of sexually harassing a minor, but somehow the magazine gave no words of criticism approaching those used for a man’s obituary.
