Sympathy for an illegal criminal.
The New York Times makes an amazing leap. It tells the story of two men. One is an upstanding member of the community in Minnesota. The other is an illegal alien who has used the former's identity. The Times tries to weave its stories together and develop sympathy for each.
The illegal has amassed debt, tax evasion, and other challenges while stealing the American's identity. He has also been deported repeatedly, has a DUI on his rap sheet, and recently ran over a man and his granddaughter, killing the man and severely wounding the girl.
But sure, The New York Times…they are both sympathetic figures.

Since a clutch of Democrats cut a video encouraging our military to engage in treason, they have been in a struggle session. The biggest issue has been that while claiming President Trump has encouraged illegal activity, they are incapable of describing any act he called for that is actually illegal.
A prime example comes from Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who tries to sound bold, but all she could provide was supposition.

Despite days of these politicians looking inept, Joe Scarborough was angered that they could not state anything illegal, and he jumped in to fill in the blanks. And then Scar-Joe followed suit with his neutered evidence – Trump is able to do stuff, and he said he would do stuff at some time. Except…he has yet to actually deliver on this stuff, but still – that is practically doing something illegal, according to Scar-Joe.

On "Face The Nation," Margaret Brennan was decrying the number of people detained in Trump's immigration sweeps. She announced that 48 percent of those held lack a criminal conviction or even an investigation. Bypassing this means the plurality are, in fact, criminals, but she also needs to avoid the fact that these are folks who came into the country illegally, then the number is topping out at 100 percent.

On Friday, Zohran Mamdani met with the president at the White House, and while disagreeing on many issues, the two were rather agreeable. This friendliness actually upset some, such as Susan Glasser.
On "Meet the Press," Kristen Welker mentioned that when asked in the Oval Office if he believed Trump to be a tyrant, the president jumped in and said it was acceptable if he said so. But Welker was clearly bothered that Mamdani did not make the bold declaration in front of that gathered media clutch, so she pressed him to make the claim on her show.

On "The 11th Hour," there was coverage of the immigration effort taking place in Charlotte, and on a panel, guest Jason Johnson was visibly giddy over the various ways activists have been working against ICE agents. He was full of praise that school students were walking out of classes (a highly ineffective move, but one that gets them out of class), and when it came to actively attacking agents and vandalizing their vehicles, he seemed rather pleased with these moves:
I won't say I'm suggesting this behavior -- but ICE agents have found that their tires are slashed. They have found that they have been chased. Yes, they have been chased out of buildings -- chased out of restaurants.

In another move to decry the Carolina immigration detainments, NBC closed out a lengthy critical article by getting the opinion of someone who has long passed away. The ICE collection efforts have been dubbed "Operation Charlotte's Web," so NBC sought out the opinion of the author of the famous book:
Martha White, the granddaughter of E.B. White, author of the beloved children's book "Charlotte's Web," criticized the use of her grandfather's book title as the enforcement operation's name, stating that her grandfather believed in the rule of law and due process. "He didn't believe in masked men, in unmarked cars, raiding people's homes and workplaces without IDs or summons. He didn't condone fearmongering," White said in a statement on Sunday.
We are confused. If he believes in the rule of law, then agents enforcing immigration law should have been seen as an acceptable practice.
