Reporting on the Mirror – MSNBC-MS NOW
That money might have been better spent elsewhere…
As MSNBC is on the verge of completing its divorce from NBC News, the new breakoff company Versant is trying to sell everyone on the newly branded (but oldly biased) news network as it transitions into being called MS NOW.
To sell people on this image makeover, Versant has dropped $20 million on an ad campaign to alert everyone about the rebranding. In one promotional clip, Rachel Maddow reads from the Declaration of Independence, as a montage plays out, with clips of the on-air anchors looking pensive and serious toward the camera that are interspersed with public scenes. These are not live candid clips, but homey and traditional scenes, played by actors.
These vignettes feature a high percentage of POC individuals because the network has learned it boasts the largest share of the black viewing audience among the cable networks. This is why in another promo clip, the late poet Maya Angelou is featured, narrating as similar scenes play out, using many of these same actors in homelife scenes. Yes, the network that loves to mock conservative values is the one dedicated to family lifestyles.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – CBS NEWS
We are trying to imagine how much more oppressive coverage this would receive if it were NOT “banned.”
Ever since the emergence of Donald Trump in 2015, the Left and the media have been rather consumed with the dystopian novel “The Handmaid’s Tale.” The conceit they love to push is that this societal misogynist horror is something that conservative men are pining for. Pundits love to reference it, the FX Network has kept producing a series based on the book, and women who loudly declare they will NEVER succumb to being forced into wearing red robes and bonnets…er, umm…protest against this by…wearing them willingly.
On 60 Minutes, they did a feature on the author, Margaret Atwood, and in it, talked at length about how hers has been a “banned” book. If you are wondering how this novel, which has been a constant presence in our culture for a decade now, can be considered banned, the show references how schools with younger-aged children have removed it from libraries.
Apparently, they feel at 60 Minutes that elementary children should read a story containing rape scenes and violent oppression of women.
With 64 books to her name, Margaret Atwood has been called the "prophet of doom" for her uncanny ability to write about catastrophes in her fiction before they happen in real life. This Sunday, she talks with @jon_wertheim about her dystopian classic, "The Handmaid’s Tale," and… pic.twitter.com/HYmtkjxLAA

Did Bob Eiger leave his money on the dresser for you?
On Disney-owned ABC’s “Good Morning America,” they had a three-and-a-half-minute-long segment touting the newest Disney Cruiseline ship.
Look at the empty eyes of correspondent Will Reeve as he is fully aware of the whoring he is compelled to provide for the parent company.

Stealth Story Evolution – WASHINGTON POST
Just slide that correction in there; we are sure no one will notice.
Recently, the WaPo Editorial Board put out an op-ed that lent support to the construction taking place at the White House for the East Wing ballroom.
After it came out, some were noting that the piece never brought up the fact that among those private donors who were contributing to the construction costs was Amazon, the corporation owned by the newspaper’s publisher, Jeff Bezos. This was especially notable when, in one portion, the editorial cited possible conflicts of interest concerning the donations to the project.
WaPo later included a line that asserts the Bezos involvement, but there is no attribution to this change being made.

And…there is no follow-up question on how it was called a GOP shutdown, Manny?
Now that the Senate Democrats have broken down and passed a new Continuing Resolution to reopen the government (at least until the end of January), it appears that there is more freedom to reference how this had, in fact, been a Democratic Party move to shut things down.
Manu Raju spoke with Democrats, and they stated that the shutdown had been worth it. He also noted Hakeem Jeffries was still telling his people to vote against the new bill and keep the government closed.
But, it is the Republicans who were blamed…?
Was shutdown worth it?

Hickenlooper: “Yeah, I think so.… I hate it, but, yeah, it was worth it. Definitely. We got people to pay attention to the fact that this is a traumatic, in many cases, life or death situation all over this country.”
