Pre-Written Field Reports – CBS NEWS / 60 MINUTES

  • Did you even think this question through, Norah?

In a bit of a surprise move (considering the recent settlement), President Trump agreed to an interview on 60 Minutes, and surprisingly, the embattled program had him on. Norah O'Donnell conducted the sit-down, and it was clear she was on an agenda. It was also clear that Trump was having none of it.

In one segment that reveals how unprepared the newswoman was, she listed off a number of people indicted since he took office, and asked if these were the work of him exerting revenge. Once again, the press levels this charge without considering that it has to mean there had been some activity to inspire that retribution. They always manage to stop right at that point.

Trump, however, did not stop there, and he laid out directly the flaw in this constant narrative position.

DNC PR Firm – KOAT CHANNEL 7 NEWS

  • A little advice: In order to generate sympathy, first start with a sympathetic figure.

This weekend saw the start of the month, and the government shutdown is still in place, which means that the new round of SNAP benefits will go undelivered across the country. The GOP attempted to resolve this reality with a stopgap bill to keep the program funded, but the Democrats—the same Democrats who are voting against opening the government—denied it.

In a move meant to lend support to the Dems, a news station in New Mexico – the state with the largest percentage of citizens on SNAP – did a feature on one woman who relies on these food payouts. However, they instead managed to underscore the very foundational problem with this disincentive program by detailing that this woman has been on the government program for over 30 years, AND she also gets supplies from a local food bank.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – CNN

  • One might think Abby could provide a segment on these people.

In a sign of desperation at preserving her own importance, Abby Phillip was on a podcast and attempted to denigrate the worldview of people on the Right by suggesting they operate without all of the requisite information because they exist in news silos.

And how, exactly, does she know this detail? Because, as she claims, she speaks to MAGA members every day. As laughably dubious as this claim is, for anyone on CNN to make this claim is hilarious, as they and their audience are, by comparison, effectively existing in an underground bomb shelter.

Legalized Press-titution - ABC NEWS / GOOD MORNING AMERICA

  • After all these decades, will she EVER be able to rise above this "oppression"?!

Former First Lady Michelle Obama was interviewed on camera once again this weekend (no, we do not know why either), and she was delivering the same long-worn-out talking point about how mistreated she and her husband have been.

They are enormously wealthy, have multiple homes, are on the receiving end of fawning media coverage, and have broadcast deals to put out all of the content they desire. Frankly, I could use some of this oppression she is enduring.

Democratic Custodial Services – THE NEW YORKER

  • If this is considered helping, that should indicate what a mess he is…

The press effort to bolster the damaged prospects of Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner continues. Platner, recall, is the one with problematic posts in his past that were racist in nature, as well as having been revealed to have a Nazi tattoo on his chest. An alleged mistake that took him 18 years to realize.

Jay Caspian Kang did a profile on Platner to boost his cause and spent much of the time describing him as coming from "the dirtbag Left."
