First Amendment Strike Force

  • Using censorship to protect our liberties is rather dystopian thinking, Mr. Obama.

Michael Shellenberger, who, with Matt Taibi, was instrumental in exposing the silencing tactics behind the Twitter Files, has a scoop about a global cabal to limit free expression. And Barack Obama is leading this charge.

The former president gave a speech at the Stanford Cyber Policy Center last month with officials from numerous nations in attendance. They are behind an effort to clamp down on disapproved speech – and America is part of the targeted masses:

The meeting was titled “Compliance and Enforcement in a Rapidly Evolving Landscape.” Frank McCourt, the same person behind the Stanford Internet Observatory, financed the gathering through his “Project Liberty Institute,” (PLI), toward which he gave $500 million to “strengthen democracy” and “foster responsible technology.”

There is no way this can be looked at as a positive when the powerful and wealthy meet in secret to begin determining what is acceptable speech, and what steps can be taken to control what THEY deem to be misinformation.

First Amendment Strike Force – SP!KED / U.K. GOVERNMENT

  • "We need to regulate your censorship film, thank you very much."

In another dose of Orwellian nonsense, the British government has apparently clamped down on the release of a documentary about the clampdown efforts on speech in the country.

As we have seen in recent years, British citizens are being arrested and locked up for social media posts – often receiving longer sentences than those who commit violent crimes. The British outlet Sp!ked produced a documentary covering these and other efforts by the government to target free expression. As it explains:

Britain has written one new speech crime after another into its statute books. And it has led to a situation in which at least 30 people a day are now arrested in England and Wales for social-media posts. This is a documentary about some of those speech criminals.

And now, it is seeing a clampdown on its film.

On Xitter, its post with the 43-minute documentary has been age-restricted in order to view or share the film, despite its insistence that there is no age-appropriate content to be seen. As such, we will give you the chance to review the release yourself.

Anti-Social Media – JENNIFER WELCH

  • Sounds like she wants to eliminate MAGA before they turn violent.

Denial and projection have been in surplus supply from the Left since Trump took office this year. Raging and threats have been served up in bulk, all while they try to insist that those on the Right are resorting to violent rhetoric as they deny being aggressive. (Hell, just yesterday, we featured Nicolle Wallace and Gov. JB Pritzker laughably denying Democrats have called Trump "Hitler.”)

Jennifer Welch has risen as a prominent leftist, political podcaster this year, and here we have her not only wantonly promoting taking out MAGA individuals, but she is directing Democratic leaders to fall in line, or they will be targeted in the same fashion.

Democratic Custodial Services – THE BULWARK

  • Ah, c'mon, that was all the way back in…uh, two years ago.

It never ceases, the press finding ways to excuse troubling quotes heard from Zohran Mamdani. This time, it was concerning the disturbing quotes he made about the police, and this time, it is more pathetic, as the excuse-making is from that once-claimed source of "true conservatism," The Bulwark.

Tim Miller looks over these disturbing comments made in 2023, and in order to back the hyper-socialist, quasi-communist candidate, he brushes them aside with the most daft explanation: Mamdani has somehow managed to "deprogram himself" from these troubling positions.

Uh-huh. He is not lying and hiding his extremist views to appear like a neutral centrist for the election; he must have attended a "Commie Conversion Therapy" camp in the past couple of years. Sure, that's it.

Gilded Reframe – THE ATLANTIC

  • Add Chait to the list of journos "surprised" to learn this about KJP.

As Karine Jean-Pierre is pimping her book release, she is generating a string of laughs for appearing, possibly, more mentally incompetent in an interview than Kamala Harris.

When she was operating as the White House Press Secretary, Karine was every bit as lost at the podium as she appears today, but to point out her deficiencies would cause defenders to lash out with accusations of intolerance, since she is a black woman who is LGBTπ. (Just wait, she will alert you to this reality in a matter of moments.)

As the anti-woke movement was leading to the striking down of DEI policies, KJP was often referred to as a DEI hire, and that would invariably lead to being called racist for daring to suggest such. Yet, here we have Jonathan Chait wandering directly into that field, as he speculates how it was that Karine was given her position.
