DNC PR Firm – PUBLIC BROADCASTING SERVICE

  • We assume David bought a t-shirt and a thermal coffee cup from the event website.

Yesterday, we covered how the condescending “conservative” David French attended the "No Kings" protest in Chicago. Now, we bring you David Brooks, who was sitting in on a panel and detailing how he viewed the Saturday protests not as “super lefty” but as a patriotic uprising he was swooning over. A few things to discredit the legitimacy of the self-described “PBS conservative”:

  • He approves of a protest that was merely “mostly lefty.”

  • He mentions needing Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) “to save us.”

  • He appears on MSNBC.

Reporting on the Mirror – HUFFINGTON POST

  • I just PROMISE you she did not get to me! Allow me to explain in a thread that spans dozens of posts!

HuffPo’s S.V. Dáte had a bit of a run-in with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. After sending her a direct message with a rather accusatory question about the upcoming meeting between President Trump and Vladimir Putin, Leavitt responded with a dismissive “your mom” reference. Now, it can be disputed if this is an appropriate or unprofessional response, but as Leavitt explained, she has her phone messages flooded with queries from this particular reporter.

Mr. Dáte, in response, felt the need to detail the entirety of his career on Xitter, with a lengthy position-by-position retrospective.

The best part is that—in his thread proclaiming what a seasoned and professional reporter he is—Dáte mentions how he covered the Ted Bundy trial and, as a result, concluded that the serial killer was not a good person.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – THE BULWARK

  • He sounds about as “conservative” as your staffers, so this tracks.

The Bulwark has finally done it! It found a die-hard conservative who can no longer tolerate being a MAGA Trump supporter!

That is, only if you believe The Bulwark headline and not his actual screed against Trump. Two things leap to the fore to expose this sham: he uses the long disproven canard as he accuses Trump of calling white supremacists “very fine people,” and he is upset that Roe v. Wade was overturned.

In other words, like the rest of The Bulwark staff, he is a leftist.

Both Kinds of Standards – THE INDEPENDENTS

  • Seems this “Most American Thing” applies only to about half of Americans, according to Todd.

Chuck Todd felt the need to let us know that he really put the "No Kings" protest in high regard. So much so, he was actually angered by anyone who dared to be critical of the protests – so angered, in fact, that he manages to contradict himself within his own post.

Chuck declared that protesting was “the most American thing” a person could do…and then proceeded to “shut down criticism” of the event. In other words, he was so supportive of the noble practice of protesting that he, uhmmm, was angry at those protesting that protest?

News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • So while he serves as a prototypical example of intolerance, it is a non-story.

Consider these elements in the formula for outrage normally seen in the press: Whites insulting a minority, a man acting in misogynistic fashion, or someone behaving in xenophobic fashion to ship someone back to their alleged home country, and even you can add some political intolerance.

Now – imagine the press reaction to somebody employing ALL of those elements in one instance. They would explode!

Unless… the target is a conservative. At a recent James Mason University football game, Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Winsome Earl-Sears was in attendance, and one leftist fan was captured on video insulting Sears, yelling that she is a traitor, and that she needs to “Go back to Haiti!” The ignorance is compounded by the small detail that Ms. Earl-Sears is a naturalized Jamaican woman.

That barely any in the press dared to cover this development is a testament to the double standard in the press toward intolerance when it comes to minorities and the party of which they are a member.

Demo-lition Project – CNN

  • Seems pricey when we’d rather cancel the free service.

Next week, CNN will launch its subscription premium service, which will offer unique content, streaming capabilities, and access to all its digital reporting.

This strikes many as a perplexing offering, given that the metrics look completely abysmal for its current cable audience share. That is to say, people continue to walk away from its free content, so why do they think there is a demand for the chance to pay for their service?!

Anti-Social Media – SALT LAKE TRIBUNE

  • It says even more that there was no satire about conservative violence.

Is it just us? It seems that when the media are rather captured by the subject of political violence and wanting to point fingers of blame, that possibly a newspaper having a political cartoonist portraying a world leader wielding a chainsaw on Americans, at the behest of President Trump, would be considered the opposite of what it should be encouraging.
