News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS
Order another bottle of “Marie Antoinette, 2020,” there is no work today
There has been a remarkable amount of theater kid posturing from Democratic members of Congress regarding the Schumer-led Democrat government shutdown. All manner of suffering is promised, and repetitive videos from House members are dispensed, claiming their GOP opponents are refusing to show up and open the government. (HINT for you cement-heads: Your chamber already passed the CR, so what do you expect them to do?!)
MEANWHILE, the Democrats staged a fundraiser. Not in D.C., but in California. At a posh resort. In wine country. We are sorry, but it seems odd that as Republicans are being slammed for not being in the capital, and allegedly vacationing, we see no words of condemnation in the press over this tone-deaf event taking place while invoking the hardships their shutdown is creating.
NEWS Democrats are now heading to a luxury resort in Napa Valley in the middle of the shutdown for a fundraiser, plus a wine tour. Hotel Yountville rooms go for up to $1,100 a night. Part of the itinerary also includes a wine-tour and dinner at the high-end Staglin Family… pic.twitter.com/RFRH5njzbf

Does their dumping of MSNBC count toward the numbers?
Word came down that NBC News is going through a period of layoff, with 150 jobs on the pink slip block, comprising around 7% of the labor force at the network.

Hardest Hitting News – NBC NEWS
This is looking rather insensitive and triggering!
Later, we learned who specifically was affected by the layoffs at the network, and judging by the social identity politics that the press loves to foist onto our nation, this is looking to be a case of severe intolerance!
A number of the verticals dedicated to minority groups are being gutted, with those working at portions of the news division dedicated to POC, Hispanic, Asian, and LGBTπ issues being among the most affected workers.

You do realize this makes him happier, as a result, correct?
There has been a steady stream of barking and mewling in the press corps over the recent calls coming down from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to revamp the press standards and credentialing in the Pentagon. He has wanted to clamp down on things like access in the building, standards of practice, and the looming threat of having press access denied to those who might violate regulations or even the law by publishing classified intel or restricted information.
A mounting list of press outlets sees them declaring they will not be signing onto the news standards, leading to their access being cut off. What is odd is how they felt their protest would affect Hegseth, when he was desiring to limit leaks within the DOW, so their willingness to walk out means his goal is more easily accomplished.
What is also odd is that one other point of contention was the threat of having their credentials pulled, so instead, they are voluntarily turning in their credentials by this afternoon’s deadline.

Prose & Contradiction – MEIDAS TOUCH
I’m not sure he understands what he admitted to here.
The desire to cast the blame on the Republicans for the government shutdown continues to run into the simple problem of facts, namely, the Democrats in the Senate are preventing the Continuing Resolution from being passed. It is with some amusement that Adam Mockler is hailed as having taken down Scott Pressler, and Republicans in general, with this commentary.
He openly states that Republicans have 51 votes in the Senate to open the government, but not even seven Democrats are willing to compromise and vote with them – all while Mockler and the Democrats are desperate to blame the GOP for the shutdown.
BREAKING: In a stunning moment, @MeidasTouch's Adam Mockler schools GOP panelists on ending the shutdown. "If you have 53 Republicans, and you can't get 7 Democrats to sign on, that means they're not compromising."

Anti-Social Media — TIME MAGAZINE
- Surely this was a hasty choice made on a deadline, for certain.
In the wake of the historic peace deal made in the Israel-Hamas war, Time Magazine was mostly laudatory for President Trump's accomplishment in brokering peace. Its choice for a cover image was, shall we be honest, slightly less than flattering for the president.

The deal may become a signature achievement of Trump's second term, and it could mark a strategic turning point for the Middle… pic.twitter.com/0bZDABIDGj
