News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS
It is always wrong to bring up the name that always comes up in these instances.
As the press is once again applauding Democrats who are fleeing their political duties, we also see the desire not to look into the details. In Texas, the Democrats are enraged that the state GOP wants to do what the Democrats have long engaged in, and that is redistricting. The level of histrionics is rather amazing, and the press that always loves to accuse threats against democracy somehow does not see this effort to block democracy as a problem.
So, as this clutch of Democrats flees to Illinois to prevent an inevitable vote on redistricting, it has been learned who is supporting these cowards as they stay in luxury hotels and get around the streets of Chicago. The PAC that is operated by Beto O’Rourke (who also financially supported the last time Dems left Texas, for D.C. in 2021) has partnered with Texas Majority PAC, which is a group funded by (wait for it…) George Soros.
Color us less than surprised.

Both Kinds of Standards – THE LINCOLN PROJECT
How, after all these years, has this bullet-head not realized he should go scrub his social history?!
Turncoat conservative Rick Wilson is deeply bothered by the Texas redistricting effort. We know, we know – the shock of this is nonexistent.
The gerrymandering plot in Texas is a real leadership test for Democrats from top to bottom. It’s time to play hardball. @TheRickWilson on MSNBC: pic.twitter.com/zSw3KNjMwm

It is still rather amusing to consider how Wilson was once a GOP operative, and to see that he is all about the grift, not the foundational standards. Considering the cratering approval of Democrats, one might expect Rick to switch back to being a “conservative” in the not-too-distant future.
More amusing than this, however, is that Wilson - after years of falling prey to the “there’s always a tweet” trick bag - once again is undone by his former strong stance on the exact opposite side of the very same issue.
"Gerrymandering" is often code for "We run lazy, sloppy, low $ campaigns appealing to the most liberal edge cases and lose."

Legalized Press-titution – ASSOCIATED PRESS
We are hanging up on your call for sympathy.
It was 10 months ago when it was revealed that Israel’s IDF had pulled off one of the best long con inside jobs ever witnessed. The terror group Hezbollah had moved away from cell phones to communicate because of the fear they could easily be tracked, so they resorted to the old-school method of communicating through beepers. Israel infiltrated the supply chain of those selling the devices and installed explosives. Israel waited to set them off in thousands of devices at the same moment, killing and injuring many. Then the next day, the same thing happened with the use of the even more outmoded walkie-talkies.
Now the AP takes a look at those affected by the tech attack, highlighting how there were many collateral instances of families and children impacted adversely by the explosions. It is clear the news syndicate, known to have once shared office space with Hamas, takes a sympathetic approach to those affiliated with Hezbollah as well. Although one pull quote will probably quell any sympathy hoped for:
The survivors expressed ongoing support for Hezbollah but acknowledged the security breach. They blamed Israel for their wounds.

Presentation Paradox – THE FLORIDIAN
Well, it just feels like that is what he is doing, so no need to research.
In typical fashion of the press in the Sunshine State, the eponymous site The Floridian jumped at Governor DeSantis for issuing coins that curiously (to them) declared him to be the “Commander In Chief”. This was said to be a move where DeSantis was “anointing himself” with this title, on a memento that is “not usually seen in the political sphere.”
Ignorance of the item aside, it is clear there was a late addition made to this stunted piece, as in the last tacked-on paragraph it states that these challenge coins are not only commonplace but that the past slew of governors had issued them, with the proper title of “Commander In Chief” embossed on them all.
This completely blasts apart every claim made in the entire article.

Glossary Over Things – NBC NEWS
Well, it seems to feel insensitive, so I choose to be offended.
There is a new slur emerging that the press wants us to be offended about. The epithet is “clanker”, so be sure to never use it, out of caution of offending…machinery.
The growing use of the term is being applied mostly to Artificial Intelligence engagements, but is also applied to any form of automation we encounter, such as delivery drones or robo calls. Now we are being told it is offensive.
They found some message boards where some claimed this feels like the use of the N-word and, of course, NBC News found an expert to condemn us for insulting machines:
Adam Aleksic, a linguist who is also a content creator focused on how the internet is shaping language, said he first noticed the emergence of “clanker” a couple of weeks ago. Its use mirrored classic slurs related to racial tropes and appeared to emerge out of a growing “cultural need” related to growing unease with where advanced technology is heading. Naturally, when we trend in that direction, it does play into those tropes of how people have treated marginalized communities before.”
We need to be sure that we are not resorting to dehumanizing insults when we refer to machines.

Reporting On The Mirror – SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO
This cancellation is NOT a threat to democracy.
The word came out that Sirius XM will not be renewing the opulent contract of shock-jock Howard Stern. Years ago he was signed to a huge deal in order to generate subscribers to the premium radio service, not unlike the Joe Rogan podcast deal on Spotify.
But in the past five years, Stern has gone from being a provocative and controversial figure to being a statist who has been remarkably obsessed with Covid, masking, vaccines, and other cranky old man-type political commentary. His audience grew tired of his mewling on the air, and the listenership has shriveled to a point of no longer justifying the investment.
Notably, we are not hearing anything from the press approaching the Colbert-level of accusations that our democracy is threatened by the cancellation of a comedian criticizing the president.
A new case of go woke, go broke: Howard Stern’s going to be cancelled at SiriusXM when his contract ends. In recent years Stern said he hates Trump voters, that he thinks we’re stupid and that he would deny unvaccinated people hospital care if it was up to him. Pulitzer Prize Nomination – CBS NEWS
Can you commit genocide on a barren landscape?
With the recent news that President Trump has expressed an interest in returning to the moon, the CBS Mornings show brought on Neil DeGrasse Tyson, so it was likely things would go sideways. This time it was not Tyson’s doing.
Host Vladimir Duthiers exposes his partisan bubble mindset when he asks Tyson about the concerns he has with the adverse effects seen with “the age of colonialism on Earth”, and how that could have a negative impact due to us colonizing the moon.
The uninhabited, inhospitable, barren moon.
These people…
