Legalized Press-titution – THE INDEPENDENTS
Exploiting the dead in your new endeavor is not pathetic at all…(eyeroll)
Since he departed from CNN, we have not had much interest in Jim Acosta. He migrated over to the solitary pastures of Substack, and his lurches for relevancy have been rather desperate. (He was to stage a live “tour,” which consisted of one poorly-attended show in D.C.)
As a sign of his desperation, Abilio did manage to turn some heads in his direction with a recent “interview” that had most people with a functioning set of scruples wondering just what the hell he is doing.
He sat to speak with one of the students killed in the Parkland school shooting, Joaquin Oliver, through an artificial intelligence mock-up of the victim, arranged by his parents. This was simply ghoulish for all involved, and a degrading low - even by Acosta’s already subterranean standards.

A show you don’t want to miss at 4p ET / 1p PT. I’ll be having a one of a kind interview with Joaquin Oliver. He died in the Parkland school shooting in 2018. But his parents have created an AI version of their son to deliver a powerful message on gun violence. Plus Texas State… pic.twitter.com/mbdM2WxwUR

Race To The Bottom – WPEC CBS 12 News
It’s always a treat when the press misses out on being trolled by the GOP.
So some needed backstory for this one. Ron DeSantis will be applying some DOGE spending cuts across Florida. The state’s CFO proposed a name change: The Florida Agency of Fiscal Oversight, and the governor saw favor with this new moniker of FAFO.
Right on cue, one Florida station took exception to this provocative new label, and they might have pulled a ligament making this stretch to criticize the new name.
However, that phrase, “F--- Around and Find Out,” was itself embraced by a racist, extremist group. The Anti-Defamation League notes the Proud Boys use the phrase as a slogan “to suggest they are always prepared for a fight, and if a person confronts or messes with them, that person will be sorry.”
Gov. Ron DeSantis and CFO Blaise Ingoglia both say the name "Florida Agency for Fiscal Oversight," but its acronym has different meanings online. https://t.co/a2QnYjaYWr

Blue-anon – MSNBC
Rachel could win an Emmy, but it will have to be in an acting category.
It is always a cherished time when Rachel Maddow revs up for one of her monologues, delivering all of the emotional heft and hyperbolic script readings that would shame a dinner theater understudy.
For her latest, she even acknowledges the hysterical nature of her rant, telling the audience to imagine the most melodramatic scenarios for our country, before informing them that they are living in those exact conditions today.
She delivered all of that before getting to the denouement of her speech: Trump and the Republicans want to feed immigrants to alligators.
Just an Emmy-worthy performance, to be sure. (That is more a reflection on the lowered status of the Emmys, as opposed to raving about the quality of her acting.)
JUST IN: A stressed Rachel Maddow, who has been whining about Trump for a decade now, declares that we are living under a "consolidating dictatorship."

Both Kinds Of Standards – CNN
Now Brian…how did those standards get put in place…???
We might need to perform a wellness check on Brian Stelter. He was going off on a rant on his account, detailing all of the aggressive things President Trump is allegedly enforcing in what Brian clearly sees as totalitarian rule.
Climate change reports, deleted.
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) August 4, 2025
DEI initiatives, banned.
Local TV and radio stations, defunded.
The list goes on and on. President Trump and his government appointees keep asserting more control over ideas and information...
Yet what Stelter fails/chooses not to see is that he accuses the removal of these policies of being the control of ideas; he never considers the installation of climate mandates, DEI requirements, and all the other standards put in place as being controlling concepts. Because he approves of those.
Newseum Art Installation – HOUSTON CHRONICLE
The strained logic and resorting to doing the meme make this a work worthy of any wall.
We would like to thank the @HoustonChron for donating a piece for our DNC PR wing.
