Gilded Reframe – CNN
They were deeply impressed by her question – but they’d rather you don’t listen to the answer.
With Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard releasing scores of government files on the activity involving the Russian collusion investigation, we see a deeply revealing behavior from the press. The very same people who could not stop reporting on it years ago, absent hard proof, are now provided hard evidence, and they could not be more apathetic. Journalists refuse to look into the documents and instead seek ways to disavow the need to look further.
In one example, we have seen a number of journalists praising CNN's Kaitlan Collins for daring to challenge Gabbard and Karoline Leavitt at the White House on the release. Collins pointed out previous investigations leading to non-results were bipartisan and even involved current Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
However, what we saw delivered with far less energy was their shared response, which blasted the Collins premise out of the water and established the import of these documents.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – CNN
What it looks like when an expert analyst refuses to analyze what she is discussing.
Also, at CNN, they were busy explaining why we should not care about the new documents and information coming out. They brought out Security Analyst Beth Sanner to play the role of Frank Drummond outside the exploding fireworks factory, telling us there is nothing to see here.
Sanner tried to say that this release was cherry-picking details and referenced something found in “one report.”
It has been a cherry orchard, Beth, with Gabbard releasing thousands of pages of declassified intel reports, with more to come out as well as whistleblowers who are set to detail what they know. But it is interesting to see the press that normally calls for transparency becoming very bothered when the government turns over a wealth of documentation.

DNC PR Firm – MSNBC
Joe, no need to audition for Stephen Colbert’s job; they are cancelling his entire show.
On “Morning Joe,” the namesake host was deeply bothered by the Tulsi Gabbard documents release and addressed the issue by not mentioning anything at all about the contents. Instead, Scar-Joe elected to simply insult Gabbard’s intelligence due to…we are not really clear. Joe fumed and carped about Gabbard, and was ringing a bell to supposedly indicate her reaching new lows of disappointment. As to what earned this scorn, he was not so forthcoming. Basically, this was the man who raved about how “sharp” and mentally fit Joe Biden was last year, daring to call anyone else mentally challenged.
There was one revealing comment about the documents, however. Joe essentially explained (if we can call it that) that the accuracy of the documents should not be acknowledged:
“Even if your crazy conspiracy theories are right, it doesn’t matter.”
Sorry, excuse us, Joe; why do they not matter if they are proven accurate?!

News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS
This is a deeply significant development. Best that they ignore it.
Recall, weeks ago, immediately after the Iranian bombing mission, CNN’s Natasha Bertrand came out with the lightly sourced and wildly premature report from the Pentagon that the damage inflicted did not affect its nuclear program significantly. This “low confidence report” was basically a wild guess (which she failed to disclose), and the media complex exploded by repeating these claims.
Now, a new assessment report that is far more valid and credibly backed has emerged and declares that Iran is likely set back by years in its quest for developing a nuclear weapon. The lack of energy seen across the news landscape in updating this result is both revealing and expected.

Race to the Bottom – CBS
This may explain all the wailing heard from the network.
We are starting to see some of the lasting effects from the settlement that Paramount-CBS agreed to with Donald Trump in his lawsuit concerning the Kamala Harris “60 Minutes” interview. One move is to have an independent Ombudsman to oversee any complaint about the news division displaying bias.
Additionally, as the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global is underway, they have issued a statement confirming that the intention is that DEI programs in place at the studio and the network will be dismantled entirely:
As for the elimination of DEI programs, Skydance said New Paramount would no longer set numerical goals related to the race, ethnicity, sex or gender of job applications or employees; avoid using any of those characteristics as criteria for internal promotions; avoid having DEI objectives in its compensation plans, no longer set minimum spend requirements for diverse suppliers; and remove all DEI messaging from its internal training materials, as well as Paramount’s social media, websites and global business conduct statement. Additionally, New Paramount is closing the Office of Global Inclusion and will not have any teams or roles focused on DEI.

Reporting on the Mirror – WASHINGTON POST
Maybe just take the EXIT door off its hinges.
So far this week, we have covered how the Washington Post has seen named individuals accepting the paper’s buyout offer, such as Jonathan Capehart and Bump. Now comes another, in that being Cathrine Rampell. She has been appearing more focused of late on a TV career, so her leaving seems unsurprising.
We just like to remind people that she was the source of possibly our favorite swooning pro-Kamala piece last year, making people uncomfortable in declaring Kammy’s nebbish husband Doug Emhoff to be a sex symbol.
Yes, she is going to fit right in with her new role at MSNBC.
