Reporting on the Mirror – CBS NEWS
Time to get your house in order.
As the ongoing court case with President Trump over the Kamala Harris pre-election interview continues, CBS and parent company Paramount Global are becoming more mired in trauma. This week, the announcement was that in their desire to end the process, and facilitate a pending corporate merger, Paramount was offering a $15 million settlement. Trump has rejected that outright.
He has called for the sum to be $25 million, but that may not be the hitch in getting an agreement, given this is holding up the merger valued at roughly $8 billion. It appears that his demand for full retraction and apology on the air has the news division — and specifically the “60 Minutes” staff — fighting significantly against that demand.

The promotional effort is having the opposite effect.
As Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson continue their pimping tour for “Original Sin,” the sales have been decent enough, if not quite at the explosive levels many anticipated. It definitely feels as if much of the book’s content has reflected poorly on Tapper in particular, depressing what were surely strong advanced sales. But more is revealed outside of the bookstores.
For the month of May, Tapper has experienced significant audience flight on his CNN scheduled shows. Through the weekend of May 25, Tapper has seen his ratings dip sharply, at a time when he has been a perpetual presence both on his own network and across the news spectrum. Last month, he saw his audience numbers slide, from an already lowly number, by 25%, the amount of the advertising demographic dropped by 15%, as he he drew barely 10% of the cable news audience.
His average of near 425,000 for the month was the lowest he has experienced in a decade.

Gilded Reframe – CNN
Are you sure you want to go with that language?
If you are not instantly familiar with the name Omar Jimenez, you likely recognize him as a CNN reporter. Omar saw fit to commemorate the five year anniversary of a watershed moment in his career, when he had been arrested during a live news report. He had been covering some of the activities of one George Floyd rally and was cuffed for not clearing an area as commanded by police.
Can’t believe it’s already been five years. Every time I see this video it somehow looks less and less real — yet it is. pic.twitter.com/Nqa5ifNL26

Not to be the sort who tells a newsman how to do his job, but maybe using the term “less real” was a poor choice, considering he is mostly known for being at the site of a flaming riot and describing the scene as a “mostly peaceful protest.”

Low-Octane Gaslighting – MSNBC
It would be excusable if she recorded at 10:00 in the morning.
For her Thursday episode of her dwindling primetime show, Jen Psaki promoted it with a list of rather dire news items. She touted that Trump lost a court case on tariffs, Elon Musk was walking off in shame, and that the president was having a “crappy week.” Oh…oh, Jennifer…
For openers, on the very same day, an appellate court issued a stay of the removal of tariffs control from the president, yet somehow this did not make its way into her reporting. As for Musk, she was clinging to the lie that he was slinking off or dismissed, when in reality he reached the expiration date of his service with DOGE. That operation is ongoing and will continue to ferret out waste. As for Trump’s crappy week?
The latest economic numbers were reported and mostly things are positive, with inflation continuing to dwindle and the salaries report came in nearly three times higher than projected, as well as the trade deficit shrinking – despite the promise of what the tariffs would deliver.
We are not sure about her week, but Jenny’s episode sure was “crappy” from the standpoint of accuracy.
Lots to dive into tonight at 9pm ET…Trump is having a crappy week—courts rule against tariffs, his bestie is leaving DC, how is he reacting and how did that White House briefing go today…plus what is happening with arrests at court houses, how are Dems going to stop the big…

Pathological Media Amnesia – MSNBC
It’s been only four months, Michael; what changed?
It continues to astound how the press members love to pretend that their past positions are not researchable and prestable. This week, many are bent out of shape over Donald Trump pardoning the Chrisley couple. (Look, we have no idea why this pair was even known, let alone in possession of a family reality program, so we cannot begin to have an opinion on their pardon.)
Michael Steele is part of the triumvirate of pundits who took over Joy Reid’s 7 pm time slot…and managed to produce lower ratings than Reid’s sinking numbers. It is for reasons such as this, when he rails about Trump pardoning people, yet it was only back in January when he was just giddy over Joe Biden setting the presidential record for pardons and commuted sentencing.

Hoax & Change – WDKY LEXINGTON / THE KENTUCKY LANTERN
How?! Seriously, how does this go completely unchecked?
In a sign of the most blatant version of activist fraud, the anti-gun groups Moms Demand, and Everytown, held an event where they put forth a speaker who detailed what he experienced with a mass shooting when he was in high school. He spoke of losing his brother, his best friend, and nine other students who perished that day.
There was a slight issue with his version of events – namely, they never occurred. There was no such shooting at the school he named nor involving anyone he described. The anti-gun groups are claiming their local volunteers were duped by the speaker.
As for the local Kentucky outlets, there is zero excuse. How do you not verify the event or at the least discover this when verifying dates or making sure names are spelled correctly?! This is a deeply shameful display by all involved.
Shown by @CitizensVoice, the groups @MomsDemand and @Everytown had a speaker detailing a mass school shooting he experienced.

It never took place.
How do these groups put out this fraud, and how do news outlets repeat his lie, completely unchecked?!https://t.co/PCVeQLI91b
