Low-Octane Gaslighting – THE ATLANTIC
Okay, when you do worse than Jake Tapper this week, it is time to look in the mirror.
We have seen all manner of fractured media reactions to the release of the Jake Tapper book “Original Sin,” and now we have seen the worst. Over at The Atlantic, veteran pundit Mark Leibovich is just sick and tired of all the talk about the press missing Joe Biden’s condition.
This makes for the most desperate of spin efforts as Mark actually tries to say that the media cover-ups are not a big deal because everyone was fully aware of Biden’s condition. Yes, he literally sells the concept that the press lying about Biden is not so serious because everyone knew Biden was a mess. This also comes from the pundit who last year stated anyone who accurately pointed out Biden’s melting brain was a liar. (Video is provided in the linked article.)

Matching Media Memorandum – VARIOUS OUTLETS

Time to tear off a page on that Word-A-Day calendar.
In response to the melodrama seen in the Oval Office when President Trump entertained the leader of South Africa and showed a video proving the targeting of white farmers in that nation, we have our media complex acting in concert. Instead of noting the contents of the video, outlets joined together to say Trump went on the offensive.
President Trump played a video in the Oval Office in front of the press to blow into confetti the narrative that there was no proof of oppression and killing of white farmers in South Africa.

The collective uniform deflection from the press reveals everything.

Now, admittedly, the use of the word “ambush” might be regarded as fairly common enough to excuse this teamwork. The revealing aspect is how they all used that as their focus, in order to deflect away from the scathing evidence that Trump provided all because that blew apart the prevailing narrative that there was no proof of the killings and oppression taking place.
Broadcast outlets also got in on the choreography. Hearing this only underscores the effort. The Xitter account Western Lensman delivers another gem of a media video clip.

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – THE ATLANTIC
That thing we completely made up turned out to never happen, so it is proof he failed!
Recall how after the election the press was borderline obsessed with insisting Elon Musk was the true president, with Time Magazine even crafting a cover with Elon behind the Resolute Desk? It was all meant to create a wedge in the White House, followed by numerous reports of Musk allegedly battling with various cabinet officials.
Well, today, none of that pre-fab controversy has materialized, but that does not mean that the press was completely full of garbage with their insistent efforts. Nope, their failed attempt comes down to Elon Musk failing and falling in stature, you see.
“Musk came to Washington all Cybertrucks and chain saws, ready to destroy the bureaucracy,” write @AshleyRParker and @michaelscherer. But as he winds down his service, “he has found himself isolated within the upper reaches of the Trump administration”: https://t.co/Raazba9Ryy

Prose & Contradiction – CBS NEWS
Hopefully, these failed investigators will figure out who was responsible.
Jake Tapper is out peddling his revisionist history book, appearing on “The CBS Evening News,” where they say the Biden family and associates hid his condition from the nation.
“Original Sin,” a new book by journalists @JakeTapper and @AlexThomp, is shedding light on the cognitive decline of former President Biden and depicts a years-long attempt by his family and close aides to shield his mental lapses from the public. pic.twitter.com/3TlGcHOgTR

Uh-huh.
Look, guys, we here at RFTH remember clearly that time you were so desperate to protect Biden from being exposed you flopped hard with evidence that you later realized was accurate and then edited your report with manufactured “evidence.” But suuuurrrrrre, it was all the family’s doing.
Hey @CBSNews gang:

Remember when you tried to protect Biden with "cheap fake" claims but mistakenly played an accurate video as "proof", so you altered that video to "show" the misleading evidence, effectively making your own cheap video fake proof???

Reporting on the Mirror – ESPN
Keeping it around makes perfect business sense – so, of course, you get rid of it.
In this deep profile on the longtime ESPN afternoon show “Around The Horn” and host Tony Reali, we learn all sorts of impressive things. The show that has been on for more than two decades made stars out of sports journalists and is watched by everyone from fans to the athletes themselves has everything going for it: The show was basically self-produced, it was inexpensive, host Reali has long resisted salary demands and even recently took a cut to his contract, and it has been seeing its rating increase on a regular basis.
So, of course, the network has canceled it, with the final “Around The Horn” being shown on Friday, May 23.
a great ode to @TonyReali and Around the Horn from @benjstrauss today. gonna miss this show that shaped so much of my childhood and my love of journalism and sports: https://t.co/72EeaTvpnm

DNC PR Firm – POLITICO
What is cute is the way their crimes do not factor into the legal decisions.
Former USAID-test fixture Politico has come out with what it feels was a stinging indictment of the Trump administration: Did you know they were prosecuting a judge AND a member of Congress?!
According to the outlet, these are examples of Trump committing “Constitutional warfare.” And, apparently, the outlet feels it brings the evidence:
Judges and lawmakers have broad immunity from criminal charges connected to their official duties, and prosecutors historically have been reluctant to challenge that immunity.
Now, we are not officially trained legal experts, so we ask the question: When a politician storms a facility and assaults law enforcement officers, and a judge suspends a trial date and impedes ICE officials as she works to have an illegal immigrant fleeing authorities, how do those illegal actions fall under the description of “Official Duties”?
One branch vs. two: Trump’s DOJ is now prosecuting a sitting judge and a sitting lawmaker https://t.co/cHFoCoDXFT
