Low-Octane Gaslighting – WCCO / CBS NEWS
CBS News ran a national news release based on a local report from Minnesota station WCCO. Reporter Esme Murphy details that Donald Trump falsely claimed that Kamala Harris donated to help pay the bail of rioters in Minneapolis during the 2020 riots. This was run as a fact-check of a false news story.
Wow.
“Trump claims Harris helped raise millions and personally donated to a fund that got extra support to bail out protestors in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death,” went the report. It is far more than a “claim.”
Not only did Harris promote the fund for those rioters arrested, but her posts with links to the donation site are STILL on her social account. Further, this reporter interviewed Harris on this very subject during the 2022 midterm election season. Also, the post states that Trump asserted that Harris donated to the bail fund when what he said was she "helped" the organizers.

Legalized Press-titution – MSNBC
It has been well established that “Morning Joe” is the preferred program for Joe Biden, and the host Scar-Joe has debased himself fully this year in his blind support of President Silver Alert. Thus, it makes perfect sense to have it recognized that the pro-Biden PR office of MSNBC would be inviting a string of hopefuls to audition – on the air – for the role of Kamala Harris's running mate.

Artisanally-crafted Narratives – CNN
Joe Vazquez of Newsbusters dug up a revealing, little nugget concerning last year’s obtuse news cycle about gas stoves. As a reminder, this was when Biden acolyte Richard Trumka kicked off the hysterics suggesting the appliances should be banned. In a matter of days, we watched the press dutifully repeat the charges, then detail the pushback, then claim that Republicans made up the controversy about a ban, and ultimately go on to explain how a ban was a swell idea after all.
In this tumult, CNN’s Clare Foran actually submitted lengthy sections of her coverage to the Department of Energy for approval and contextual accuracy. Her effort was to target Republican members of Congress who were working to prevent Jennifer Granholm from pushing this agenda.
Alexa, define "presstitute," because I think @CNN desperately needs to learn its meaning.

Both Kinds of Standards – CBS NEWS
Don’t let this interrupt your January 6 obsession…
As we mentioned yesterday, Scott MacFarlane was rather subdued on the topic of the pro-Palestinian protesters who rioted in the capital this week. A handful of these “activists” were arrested for assaulting police during the melees. This is something MacFarlane has long highlighted as one of the worst offenses of the January 6 rioters – and he is to this day still listing off those J6 participants as they are charged and convicted.
So…what do we hear from MacFarlane about the latest update concerning this week’s violence? Hmmm, absolutely nothing at all is seen from the overly-concerned journalist as these violent suspects have been freed and cleared of any charges.
On a near daily basis Scott MacFarlane still details crimes and the convictions of those from January 6.

But the "protestors" attacking Capitol Police this week?
We'll be waiting for the stern reports of outrage from @MacFarlaneNews about those assailants being let go. pic.twitter.com/QSyZgrsemJ
Reporting on the Mirror – VARIOUS OUTLETS
Not to suggest the selection is slanted, but…
The national news and documentary Emmy Award nominations have been released. All the usual players are involved, with CNN and PBS heading the list of most nominated outlets. Also, as usual, Fox News is absent from any category, as are just about any outlets that may trend to the right. We do see nominations, however, for some curious names, such as Al Jazeera, Vice News, and – believe this or not – Joy Reid.
The full list of categories and nominees is here.
