Matching Media Memorandum – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • Those evicting the one refusing to leave hail him as a hero?!

Get ready for some comedy. First: The established facts.

For weeks, the power brokers in the Democratic Party wanted Biden removed from the ticket. All the while, Joe Biden refused to budge, even saying it would take an act from God to get him to leave.

After some time, this weekend saw Biden abdicating the ticket, and the very same people who were using a pry bar and hand grenades to extricate the octogenarian were suddenly hailing him as a “hero” and a “patriot” for, um, choosing to step away…?

Then on Monday, we saw the press go into overdrive with revisionist history – literally. The recalcitrant codger was transformed in the feverish minds of some, who went on to hail Joseph Biden as (we kid you not) the contemporary George Washington.

Time Magazine framed Biden being forced out as a selfless Washingtonian act. Slate joined in with the desperation, as did the reliably leftist historian Michael Beschloss, and Jonathan Alter also got in with the wild comparison.

Glossary Over Things – CNN

  • Someone should explain the young term “cringe” to her.

In a soundly embarrassing display, CNN’s senior reporter Jamie Gangel tries to explain to the youngins the details of Kamala’s campaign adapting the slogan BRAT and opting for a chartreuse color scheme in a bid to appeal to the millennial set. It is bad enough to have the eldest person on the panel trying to grasp it all, but her attitude that she will be the one to translate the significance to the others makes this all the more hilarious.

Stolen Validity – WASHINGTON POST

As many have been covering the abject failure of the Secret Service (SS) since the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump (and failed protection), others have been covering issues inside the SS prior. This comes as either a surprise or an annoyance to WaPo reporters Josh Dawsy and Carol Leonnig.

As they were covering the aftermath and the various scandals emerging from this fiasco of protection, they reported on the portion involving those involved in Trump’s detail requesting greater manpower at Trump events for some time now. It has been revealed that those numerous requests had been routinely denied, even after there was knowledge of increased threat risks to Trump. Leonnig and Dawsey proclaim they are breaking this information:

Agents charged with protecting the former president requested magnetometers and more agents to screen attendees at sporting events and other large public gatherings Trump attended, as well as additional snipers and specialty teams at other outdoor events, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive security discussions. The requests, which have not been previously reported, were sometimes denied by senior officials at the agency, who cited various reasons.

Hmmm, yeah, small problem. The denials have been previously reported by SS reporter RealClearPolitics Susan Crabtree and former Secret Service agent and top-rated broadcaster Dan Bongino. But they exist right-of-center, so it “has not been previously reported,” according to the media elites.

Both Kinds of Standards – NBC NEWS

  • One party is always graceful, the other always disturbingly aggressive.

It was almost instantaneous, the shift of the media into full-scale Kamala worship from the moment she was announced as the replacement for President Silver Alert. And already we see the diversity of coverage on display.

When VP Harris gave her introductory speech, there were raves and swooning coverage seen from the press, as she launched into stark criticism of Donald Trump and pointed out the various crimes charged to his name. Hey, it was expected. This is politics, and that is the way campaigning works.

Oh, wait…that is unless you are a Republican. See, if a member of the GOP gives a speech and manages to be just as critical and aggressive as the wondrous speech delivered by our current/former vice president, well, then that is simply a disgraceful display. That is according to Garret Haake, who is on the campaign trail and covering J.D. Vance as he gives a stump appearance and dares to (gasp) say critical things about Kamala!

Both Kinds of Standards 2.0 – NBC NEWS

  • Haake displays less dignity than your downtown corner meth “escort.”

Garrett was at it again the next day, this time gushing shamelessly over Kamala. He detailed how her rally had WAY more energy than Biden’s. Then he turned his focus on the Trump campaign and came up with a really bizarre conclusion.

He reported on the difficulty the Republicans now face after building up a campaign against Biden, but now suddenly need to shift their focus.

*sigh*

Seriously, Haake?! All right, let me explain two things for you:

  1. Harris is from the same administration as Biden. Therefore, there is little to zero change needed to campaign against her.

  2. Explain for everyone, if you can, how it is more difficult for the Trump campaign to alter campaign tactics than for the Democrats to completely change candidates and build an entirely new campaign.
