Words like "moral" and "principled" simply mean Liz Cheney is doing the bidding of Democrats and do not describe her actions.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, last night, Liz Cheney was roundly defeated in the GOP primary in Wyoming. Revisionism was also a promised result last night, as the press was intent on describing her loss as a result of fealty to Donald Trump, despite the fact the message voters in that state constantly delivered in the past months was that Cheney had completely abdicated her role as their representative.
Today, there are two notable details about Cheney we are seeing from the media. Well, one is displayed, the other hidden. The press, in reporting on her defeat, is dutifully avoiding the returns from the voting booth. Liz did not just lose the primary, she was decimated in a Walter Mondale-level of rejection by the Wyoming faithful. Harriet Hagman earned more than double Cheney's take, and while polling had shown a 20-25 point advantage, Cheney lost by more than 35%.
While ignoring figures showing Cheney being violated like a Starbucks at an Antifa rally, the press is lauding the woman today as if she is prepped to become the fifth bust to be carved on Mount Rushmore. All we are hearing is how noble and saintly her effort has been, putting aside her office for the sake of the Constitution and sacrificing her career to preserve democracy.

Liz Cheney stands out.
If she’s gone from office after today primary it confirms that the GOP values fealty to a tyrant over everything else.
There is an impressive selective blindspot coming from all of these voices who are proclaiming that Cheney is in possession of a rare set of standards. These people dropping to their knees in praise of her principles ignore that she is presiding over a House investigation that is itself lacking in principle. How do you pretend she is the warrior of the Constitution when she cannot even follow House rules or perform an investigation ethically?
Looking beyond the already well-established reality that the January 6 Commission was formed in a deeply partisan framework, the behavior of the committee has been shown to be an ethical conflict of an unbiased investigation into the facts. Look at the way it wants to be treated with the sanctity of the legal system, but when questionable methods are pointed out, it is then said it is not recognized as a court of law, excusing the bad faith operations. The committee wants it both ways, and often that means it fails twice.
One example was seen on the first night of the primetime broadcast of the committee. It ran videos from the riot on the Capitol, and the editing and sound effects were routinely evident. One segment is as follows.

They ran this video, overdubbed Trump's words, of an interview SIX MONTHS AFTER, alter the audio, and imply he praised the attack when he was speaking about the rally from that morning.

This is just the beginning of the issues from this "principled" and "honorable" committee. Cheney is said to be the savior of the Constitution, but when Jeffrey Clark appeared and invoked his Fifth Amendment right, this committee declared that he would be held in contempt, running contrary to the Constitution. This is just the start of the numerous questionable practices seen by this body.
Mark Meadows had been working with the J-6-C to provide White House documents when in the middle of their talks, he was served with a subpoena for his personal phone records. This led to Meadows shutting down negotiations, and he too was subsequently held in contempt. These are not the actions of a legal body looking to learn the facts; it is a spiteful revenge kangaroo court.
Look at the activity surrounding the Cassidy Hutchinson appearance. After declaring a recess that would last untold weeks, the committee suddenly announced a surprise nighttime appearance for Hutchinson. The media trembled with glee over her gripping testimony, except it exposed this commission. It shoved her before the cameras but never explored her charges. No challenging questions were asked of her, no Secret Service agents had been interviewed about her claims, no actual participants had been brought in to explain events. These are not the actions of a serious investigative body.
This J-6-C committee has shown a hunger for anything it can acquire, a sign that it is not feeding on a diet of substantive evidence. When Alex Jones had his phone records exposed by his lawyer, the committee subpoenaed those, even though they ran only to the summer of 2020, well ahead of the election and riot. This is not a serious body of investigation.
All of this defies the saintly and emboldened image so many in the press hold today of Liz Cheney. She has overseen an ethically-challenged enterprise that was formed from dysfunction, but we are being sold that it is presided over by this brave and exemplary figure. Polls show that – like the people of Wyoming – fewer Americans are buying the pitch.
