In a previous article, I offered a special reflection and commemoration of 9-11.
It’s bad enough that four planes were hijacked to inflict maximum damage on our country. Now there are perverted minds and inveterate, cowardly hearts who have hijacked that horrific day to inflict more pain, trauma, and division on this country.
The long-standing conspiracy theories around 9-11 still fester hardship. People have told me, “Bush knew about it in advance. He let it happen.” Others have said that the CIA, the FBI, every other alphabet soup agency in Washington, DC, was in on it. Ongoing criticism of President George W. Bush persists, faulting his seemingly weak response when he first heard the news of the planes crashing into the Twin Towers. “He looked like he was lost or stupid.” What did they expect him to do? Put on a Superman suit and turn the world backward?
A perverse segment of the online intelligentsia frequently trots out the pettiest, lamest, most damaging conspiracies: “The Jews did it.” Another phrase for this libel: The Dancing Israelis. If you Google it, you will find numerous rehashes of lore and gore trotting out the folly that the Mossad, the Jews, some Semitic source or element plotted the 9-11 destruction.
Six years ago, I was minding my own business at a local McDonald’s, and it was approaching September 11 th. I struck up a conversation with a local postal worker, who was off that day. One of his friends was chatting with him about current events. I remarked that September 11 th was coming up. Right away, the guy started spouting off, “You know it was ‘The Jews’ who did it, right?”
This perverse conspiracy has resurged since October 7 th . It’s not just disturbing, it’s embarrassing and infuriating.
The charge on its surface is absurd. Al-Qaeda has been targeting Israel for destruction as well as the United States for decades. Why would the Jewish state facilitate Islamic terrorists in bringing down one of their staunchest allies? From Harry Truman (himself struggling with anti- Semitic tendencies) to Donald Trump, Israel has found a strong ally in the White House (aside from Obama and Biden, of course).

The only source for this lie? Some lady with binoculars was pointing out a window, and she claimed that she saw people dancing when the Twin Towers crashed. No videos, no proof, just a lot of misdirected animus.
The truth is that Israeli’s intelligence agency, the Mossad, warned the United States that Islamic
terrorists were targeting the United States. Mossad was operating in the United States, as well,
spying on the Arabs like Moussaoui, who was the 9-11 mastermind. Yes, there were five Israeli Mossad agents in the area, but they had no active knowledge of the 9-11 plot.
Rather than plotting 9-11, a Jew was one of the first victims of 9-11, an Israeli studying for his PhD in the United States. He was on one of the planes, stabbed by one of the Al-Qaeda terrorists. He helped our country, fighting to disarm and disable those vile terrorists.
No, it wasn’t “Dancing Israelis” who brought down the Twin Towers. It’s not “The Jews’ Fault” that the United States was battered by Islamic militants. For the record, the Muslim world didn’t start attacking America because of Israel. Islam has been at war with the West since Mohammad’s “revelations” and his purported donkey ride. Ever heard of the Barbary Pirates? In the Late 1700s and early 1800s, these Islamic militant marauders frequently pillaged American vessels, simply because we were infidels. President Thomas Jefferson didn’t settle for tribute, but wiped them out with successive military campaigns.
Now, let’s talk about the real dancing on 9-11 that should bother us.
Shortly after the news went viral that Al-Qaeda terrorists had crashed those planes into the World Trade Center, and then the towers collapsed, the vast majority of the world mourned. From the United Kingdom to Azerbaijan, from Vladimir Putin to Ariel Sharon, there was widespread mourning.
But in one dark corner of the world, there was perverse celebration. There was dancing in the streets. There was jubilation that Americans had been murdered, slaughtered by festering Islamic malignancy.
In Judea and Samaria, often referred to as the West Bank, in Gaza and Lebanon, too, the Palestinians, young and old, celebrated the slaughter of our fellow Americans. They called this terrorist attack “The Gift from Allah.” The demonstrations were so shameful, so embarrassing, that then PLO leader Yasser Arafat threatened to kill any journalist who reported those vile celebrations. Instead of quelling their hateful glee, Arafat wanted to silence the messengers.
Twenty-four years later, how quickly we have forgotten.
The so-called Palestinian cause, violent to its core, threatens all of us. The same barbarity that sickens us following the Left’s glee over Charlie Kirk’s horrific assassination, that same disgust mmust animate our outrage about the Palestinians’ celebrating 9-11.
While the world cried for our loss, the Palestinians danced. While Americans fell to their deaths, Palestinians were laughing. While innocent civilians prayed for deliverance, Palestinians exchanged candies to celebrate. We must never forget that, either.
The online and the populist Right need a necessary housecleaning. We must stand for truth and not allow traumatic horrors in our nation’s history to be besmirched by liars and con artists.
Understandably, we don’t want to return to the ways of the William F. Buckley days, where we insist on fighting by the Queensbury Rules, while the Left brings guns to the knife fight. The Right is learning to fight, but now subversive elements have crept in, bringing their own brand of right-wing wokeness to an otherwise growing counter-cultural movement.
Hatred of Jews, hatred of Israel, the embrace of dirty-bag toxicity under the guise of healthy manhood have devolved our national restoration, desecrating our history. Such unremitting revisionism, combined with misguided apologism for Islam, is distorting the United States’ conservative movement into identity politics, emotions, and conspiracy theories. Such folly belongs to the Left and must be left behind for good.
