Dozens of Palestinians were discovered in a garbage truck. This was poetic justice.
On Monday, Israeli police discovered several dozen Palestinians inside the back of a garbage truck passing from Samaria in the “West Bank” into 1948 Israel. Watch the short video. You should notice a couple of things. The well-armed Israeli forces do not shoot the invaders. They are obviously prepared for any attack from inside Palestine on Wheels, but when no fire is received, none is sent. The loonies on the left tell us that Israel is killing Palestinians all the time; this would have been a perfect opportunity to wipe out the young Palestinian men, but nary a shot was fired. The folks in the truck were not terrorists in all likelihood; rather, they were looking for work. Isn’t it amazing how Palestinians and Mexicans somehow come to terrible, evil, no-good racist countries for reasons unknown? Since the October 7 massacre, Palestinian workers have been told to stay away. Thus, the garbage truck. Maybe they’ll get a reduced sentence for creativity beyond the call of duty.
Who has been replacing Palestinian laborers? Thai, Indian and Chinese workers are part of the solution. We had two Chinese fellows over recently and they did outstanding work; they knew enough Hebrew to communicate and were very efficient. Even the official Israeli building organizations are noting that projects are being completed more quickly and with significantly less theft and defects in the final structures. Uh-oh, Palestinian workers have been shown to be the often lousy and vindictive workers that everyone knew them to be. When China ordered its citizens to leave Israel, many refused: they said that they would rather face Iranian bombs than Chinese starvation. Amazing what a paycheck and freedom of expression can do to a man. It was always assumed that Israel could not survive without Palestinians “doing the work that Israelis will not do”. Well, Israel apparently will become like the Gulf states with lots of distant foreign workers taking care of the elderly, building homes and offices, and working in factories and restaurants. Unlike in the Gulf states, Israelis actually treat these workers as human beings.
We are constantly told how terrible Israel is. Tucker Carlson said that it is an ugly country. He said that it is also the “most violent” country in the world. He recently told an adoring BBC that Bibi Netanyahu controls Donald Trump as “a slave”. It is funny how reality simply does not agree with him. Palestinian workers are trying to find work in the country that is supposedly committing genocide against them. The ugly and violent country is liked by the Chinese who don’t want to go home. Bibi has honored the ceasefire, though a majority of Israelis oppose it. Why are people lying to us? Do they have hidden agendas?
Of the professors that I had at Harvard, only a handful knew of my personal existence. One of my favorites actually had a farm and split his time between working there and teaching at what was once a fine university. In one class, he showed us a bunch of factories and explained certain features they had and their significance. He later mentioned that every factory shown to us was in the Soviet Union. He then explained that in previous years, he had had students who belonged to the campus socialist club. After he gave the same lecture, they would scream that such factories were the sites of worker oppression and abuse! He thus showed only Soviet factories, so as to shut up the spoiled play-acting socialists. When I took Economics 10, the professor missed out on lectures due to his busy off-campus schedule. On two occasions, he had other professors cover for him. One was described as a “feminist” while another said that he was a “Marxist”. As I sat through their brainwashing sessions, I realized how much they bent data, obfuscated, and blatantly lied in order to get to their predetermined conclusions that men are bad and that capitalism sucks. At the time, I was sitting in a hall where VERITAS is plastered on every ancient surface. Veritas means “truth” in Latin, yet here I was being exposed to two arsonists of truth whose only goal was to reach their desired conclusions—none of which had any relationship with objective reality.
The lack of honesty in our public discourse is the reason why Victor Davis Hanson, Kurt Schlichter and Douglas Murray are such a breath of fresh air. One may disagree with their conclusions, but I doubt that he will find a bent piece of truth or an intentional misdirection in a word they write. Their conclusions are based on truth, and many people don’t want to deal with the truth when it differs from their preferred outcome. Look at that sad sack, Eric Swalwell. For years, people questioned his behavior, especially as it related to a known Chinese spy. All of the right people in Washington, California and the media wrote off such claims as right-wing nonsense. Then they needed Swalwell out of the California gubernatorial race, so as to bring about a Democratic victory. The facts just now came out, and they came out hard and fast. Fifty former associates could testify against him. Where were they all of these years? All of those who had defended and enabled him were shocked, shocked over the allegations, and discarded him like a used tissue when the party needed his immediate political egress. Wait, now we’re getting the truth? Does that mean that for all of those years that he sat on important Congressional committees, you lied to us and obfuscated to keep him in power? Take nearly any subject—Donald Trump, Israel, the Iran War—and run the same cycle and repeat.
Bending facts and constantly working to get to an acceptable conclusion is neither new nor limited to any single culture. But such an approach magnified by social media and AI can be devastating. Western Jews are harassed because Jew-haters make false claims of genocide, starvation, land grabs, and religious attacks. Those yelling at Jews or pushing them around in the US and Europe hate Jews. But the boldness of their actions is an outcome of being given license by the podcasters who lied and claimed that Israel was starving Palestinian children or intentionally destroying Christian sites. The fact that all of these claims are untrue is irrelevant. A license has been given to harass Jews. That was the goal of the liars and they are proud of the fruits of their lies, misdirections, slanders, and fraud. Donald Trump is a slave to no man; there has not been a more independent man in the Oval Office since Teddy Roosevelt. Yet, Tucker wants to blame the Iran War on the Jews and that means that Bibi somehow pushed Trump into a war that he really did not want. It doesn’t matter that one can find ancient clips of Trump suggesting that military action may be needed to deal with the mullahs. Nope. We need to take down Israel, so we will blame the exceptionally successful bombing campaign on Israel goading the ungoadable Trump into war.
Truth in our age is like diamonds: hard to find, expensive, and something worth holding onto with both hands. I have found in the sciences that there are honest practitioners who are willing to let the data lead them to whatever outcome may be, rather than prune the data to get where they want to go. Palestinians are not being murdered by Israel and they want to work here as they make ten times as much as they would at home. The US is fighting Iran because Donald Trump will not allow it to have nuclear weapons. Now, was that so hard to say?
