The BBC once again reaffirms how much official England hates Israel.
In the early years after our marriage, we would regularly eat with my in-laws for Sabbath meals. In the rare event that the subject of England or the royal household came up, a vitriol came out that was not in keeping with my in-laws’ quiet ways. As an American, I was surprised and somewhat confused by the red-hot hatred expressed towards the Queen and her country. We Americans in the last century always had a warm spot for the Brits: we loved their music, enjoyed their accent, got giggles from the antics of the royal family, and occasionally felt a kindred spirit over the shared fight of World War II and other wars. I was not used to outright hatred towards the British, but I learned on the fly.
My in-laws and many others lived in Mandate Palestine. During that time, the British famously limited Jewish entry into the Holy Land. They were additionally very hard on the Jews, especially those associated with ETZEL or LEHI, the early Jewish paramilitary organizations. Many Jews were thrown in jail and some were executed. Menachem Begin and his IRGUN famously blew up part of the King David Hotel that hosted British officers. When the British finally abandoned the Levant, they conveniently left key positions and material with the Arabs who had declared war on the Jews. There was no question for whom the Brits were rooting during Israel’s war of independence. Weapons came to the fighting Jews from Czechoslovakia, but not from the UK. While England and Israel have diplomatic relations, some things never change, including England’s official hatred of Israel.
When I asked my family why they hated the Queen, who seemed like a nice enough lady, handbag and all, they pointed out that she never visited Israel—ever. She had made visits to other states in the Middle East, but never to Israel. Charles was a tad better—he eventually came for some funerals but never for an official state visit. William did make an official visit, but it obviously had to be balanced with time over in Ramallah to show the even balance of the pro-Arabist royal family. Qatar owns half of London, so best to make sure that you keep your benefactors happy. I met a former Israeli president who once had an audience with the Queen at Buckingham Palace. He described her as pleasant and having a good sense of humor. She never reciprocated the visit to the Jewish state.

Now, in 2025, we have an incredibly powerful contrast. Tommy Robinson recently visited after an invitation from an Israeli minister. He enjoyed his visit and was greatly appreciated by Israelis who met him from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv. Whereas European Jews seem terrified of “right-wing” gentiles, Israelis see them as the bulwark against an Islamic takeover of Europe, with enormous threats to the indigenous Jews. Just after Robinson went home after his successful visit, the government in London published that the BBC worked directly with Hamas to put forth the terror organization’s views during the war and intentionally vilified Israel. As I write, an Israeli soccer club is playing Aston Villa, and the locals have told the Israelis not to come: they have officially banned Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from attending a match of their beloved club. Even a recently released hostage begged to see her team live, to no effect. Why does British officialdom hate Israel so much?
One might go back into England’s history, when the Jews were thrown out of the country for several hundred years. Or he might tie the hatred to the typical causes like religious bigotry, economic jealousy, or the experience of leaving Mandate Palestine to the Jews in 1948. I have never heard of residual hatred towards the peoples of other possessions that the Brits had to give up as their empire came to an end. Theirs is Jew-directed hatred, and as long as I have been conscious, the BBC has been accused of doctoring material and slanting its coverage against Israel and Jews. Remember, the BBC has consistently refused to call Hamas a terror organization. Hamas fits the definition of a terror organization to a T and uses violence against civilians to advance its political cause: the replacement of Israel with an Islamic Palestinian state. Why would the BBC refuse to call a terror group what it really is? The simple answer is that the BBC’s deep-seated Jew hatred causes it to refuse to accept Israel as a kosher state. In their mind, all of the land belongs to the local Arabs—independent of history, war outcomes or even the very British Balfour Declaration. One is a terrorist when someone on the other side is the legitimate power. But if the other side is illegitimate, then Hamas and its ilk really cannot be terrorists. They are freedom fighters against the illegal Zionist occupying government. They’ll never say what I just wrote, but all of their distorted reporting and anti-Israel bile say it for them.
Part of the BBC’s program was to spread Hamas lies. Another part, as reported by a government watchdog, was to “minimize Israeli suffering”. Think about the level of hatred one must possess to reduce the suffering of people who were harmed or violently lost loved ones to some kind of fender-bender. The BBC’s hatred of Israel and Jews is parallel to the same feeling inside Whitehall. Everyone knew of the “Arabist” bent in the Foreign Office, and how the British reneged on their promise to the Jews in order to get the Arabs to fight with them against the Nazis—who were quite appealing to Muslims as they were murdering Jews. The Brits, excluding Churchill, have never been great fans of Israel and the hatred shown by the BBC for decades is only a reflection of British officialdom. Like in many crimes, the real shame is getting caught. How many articles were written by Hamas members and supporters masquerading as “journalists”. Most people who don’t live with their noses in a newspaper or glued to a screen don’t know what’s going on in the world. And as such, they rely on someone spoon-feeding them news. Even when that news is slanted, they take it as being as straight as an arrow. Thus, many “regular” British folks could be seen in the massive marches against Israel and for an “intifada revolution”. Regular folks mixed with Muslims and deranged students to fill out the thousands marching across the Thames and demanding that Israel cease to exist so as to allow for a never-before-heard-of “Palestine” from the river to the sea.
Europe is lost to the Islamists, not because it is too late to reverse the tide. It is lost because there is no political will or religious belief strong enough to stop uncontrolled immigration and start a large-scale process of kicking out unassimilating illegal aliens. The US is in a slightly better position, but the victory of New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani through CAIR and Qatari money shows that the US does not understand how dangerous the Muslim Brotherhood is or that its goal is not just one mayorship but rather Sharia control of the entire country. The US should be spitting out any Muslim illegally in the country or expressing Sharia over constitutional opinions. But the US is playing footsie with Qatar and not realizing that Qatar wants the US republic to disappear and be replaced by a Sharia-observant caliphate. The only one who is fighting today is Israel, and the whole world—including the BBC—is against her. Maybe that’s proof positive that she is doing something right.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
