The post-October 7th attacks have fully mutated to anti-Jewish actions across the globe.

This is not the place to discuss or debate Jewish law. Generally speaking, being Jewish is either a product of having a Jewish mother or converting to Judaism. One of the most famous converts of our time is the president’s daughter. At the same time, one could have bought at auction recently the conversion certificate of Marilyn Monroe, dated just before her marriage to author Arthur Miller.

I have always felt bad for all those who suffered from the Nazis and their henchmen. I had a certain added pity for many individuals who were not considered by Jewish law to be Jewish but were considered more than Jewish by the racialist SS authorities. Thus, a fellow whose paternal grandfather was Jewish would probably not have considered himself Jewish. Still, the Third Reich would have gladly taken his business and sent him to a concentration camp. Guilt by even distant association was the price for having something Jewish in one’s blood. David Beckham has Jewish ancestors on his father’s side, and he has stated unequivocally that he is proud of his association with the Jewish people.

As I have written before, not all things Jewish are Israeli, and not all things Israeli are Jewish. In my youth, it was common to call Israel the Jewish state. And certainly the majority of people living in Israel are Jewish, the calendar and holidays are based on Jewish custom, Hebrew is one of the three national languages, and yes, there is a lot of Jewish food for sale everywhere. But in the end, most Israelis are not “orthodox” and do not necessarily eat kosher or keep the Sabbath. I remember being on a British Airways flight, London to Tel Aviv. Three nice old ladies sat in front of me and had not ordered kosher meals. When the stewardess offered them their food options, they realized that the food was not kosher. At home, they would never have thought of bringing unkosher food into their kitchens, as kosher food is the default. But at 30,000 feet, that’s what was available, and after a moment’s hesitation, they ate it. All El-Al flights have kosher food, and all flights leaving Israel have to serve kosher food.

And not all things Israeli are necessarily Jewish. The Nova rave that was attacked by Hamas, with hundreds murdered and taken hostage, which is typical for Israel. That it took place on a Jewish holiday and the Sabbath would make it not a very Jewish kind of event. There are world-class restaurants in Tel Aviv; not one of them has kosher certification, as they generally serve non-kosher items like shrimp or pork products.

While the very early protests and online hatred after the pogrom were directed at Israel, it did not take very long before the ire was directed at Jews writ large. Below are just a handful of events from the past few weeks:

*On an Iberia (owned by Qatar) flight, one of the crew wrote “Free Palestine” on kosher food packs prior to their being given to Jewish travelers. On JetBlue, it was “Zionazi” on the food pack.

*A young American is a “lone soldier” serving in the IDF. His family’s house in St. Louis was torched and “Death to IDF” was scrawled on the sidewalk.

*Fifty French Jewish kids and their counselor were removed—the latter forcibly—from a Vueling Airlines flight (also owned by Qatar) for no reason, according to non-Jewish witnesses to the events. A crew member called them “spoiled Israeli brats,” though they were French. A woman in first class on Lufthansa claims that a stewardess said that all of the Jews should go to Auschwitz.

*Two young guys in England got their kicks shooting water guns from their car at orthodox Jews—the only Jews that are easily identifiable. Both have been arrested.

The events above have everything to do with Jews but very little to do with Israel. Jews now are considered Israelis wherever they live, whatever they believe, and without any consideration of what their views might be on Israel and the war in Gaza. Jewish “trans” and homosexuals have been denied access to marches, though they tend to be very liberal and pro-Palestinian. Their political views are not enough to overcome the apparent fact that they are either Jewish or perceived as Jewish. And that has been the story of Jews throughout the centuries. Like the guy who was “1/8th Jewish” and sent to Dachau, Jews who have never been to Israel or may have even expressed pro-Hamas sentiments are treated like IDF soldiers straight back from Rafah. Jews who were denied freedom of movement at UCLA and Jewish restaurant owners whose establishments were defaced or attacked during business hours never expressly stated that they stand with Bibi Netanyahu or support the destruction of the Islamic terror group. It just doesn’t matter. You’re a Jew and you’re guilty. My grandfathers’ service to the Fatherland in World War I helped in only one way: it got my paternal grandfather sprung from Dachau on 31 December 1938. Otherwise, they lost their livelihoods and were forced to leave to survive. A Jewish professor with a keffiyeh who denounces Israel at every protest may buy himself a little time; eventually, they will come for him because his being Jewish trumps any other action, view, or belief.

Just as the Islamic and lefty lunatics in the West feel free to attack any Jew, so too they have moved their goal post from Israel to all Western countries. Speakers at their rallies openly say that they are gunning not just for Israel but also Australia, France, England, the US, and Germany. They want a Sharia-compliant state where a democracy stands today. They no longer hide their disdain for their host countries and have made it clear that Israel alone is not enough. They want the West gone. Their enemy is Jew and Christian alike, but just as it took time to move from Israeli to Jew, the move to threatening and condemning Christians is also a process currently underway. Islam as a religious/political movement can brook no dissent: either everyone becomes a Muslim or has to be dealt with. Sharia is the only legal option on their menu. The West coddled these people when their only enemy was Israel. Now, they want to destroy the very countries that took them in and gave them much better lives. A fellow at an Islamic protest in Australia brought an Australian flag with him.  The crowd beat him.

What’s so strange about the lack of care about what’s happening to Jews is the extreme lack of patience for anything against blacks during the height of DEI. A veteran sportscaster said that Serena Williams was using “guerrilla tactics”. Because some claimed that he meant “gorilla” and she is black, he was fired. A former New York Times science editor who did much to expose the origins of COVID was fired from the paper when he used the “N word” in response to a student who asked about using the N word in his work. The Time heard of the event which took place in South America and fired him.

Every country that either attacked its Jews or let them be attacked went down the toilet. Europe is lost as it does not have the will to fight its growing Islamic future. Let’s not let the US fall into the same trap. Antisemitism needs to be called out and dealt with. Let people lose jobs, businesses, or never get hired. Leo Terrell dropped his JetBlue flight over the antisemitic slur on the food container. Please be no less demanding. One small act can end a lot of modern Jewish hatred.
