A very disturbing podcast says a great deal about our generation.
Many people have noted a podcast, Fresh and Fit After Hours, that last week dabbled in Nazi and antisemitic tropes. One of the panelists claimed that she is not dumb, which is usually a very good sign that she is. She claimed that the Jews must have “done something to the Germans” that would have justified Hitler’s mass murder of the Jewish people. It is always strange that half of the Jew haters claim that there was no Holocaust and thus Israel was based on a post-war lie, while the other half say that the Jews had it coming to them. She went on to warble that Hitler had to do a genocide to get rid of so many people. The whole conversation, including the suggestion of killing all of the Jews, is sickening and revolting. If our non-dumb dummy knew how to read, she could have found out that Hitler and many other Germans blamed the Jews for Germany’s loss in World War I. He wrote the same in Mein Kampf and used the theme of Jews-as-traitors to rally his nascent National Socialist movement. The reality was different. Yes, German forces were in their positions when on November 11, 1918, at 11:11 the war ended. This was the basis for the libel that Jews and others sabotaged Germany and ended the war against her. The reality was that Germany was in the throes of strikes, mutinies and economic hardships. The country could not continue the war effort due to the severe internal problems that did not allow for supplying the troops the material they needed. Germany lost, though its forces were not driven from the battlefield. That outcome had to wait 27 years for the end of World War II, with Germany crushed from both east and west.
And what did those supposedly perfidious Jews do to Germany that meant that they merited mass murder? I don’t know. Both of my grandfathers fought FOR Germany in World War I. I have a picture of one of them in his uniform. He spent six months in Siberia as a prisoner of war. The other grandfather was in an artillery unit and I have his Iron Cross and military papers. The Iron Cross for the first grandfather was jettisoned into the ocean when the SS Washington cleared German territorial waters on its way to New York. German Jews were patriotic and were both terrified and insulted that Hitler and Germany had turned on them. Sure, the Polish and Russian Jews had little love of their countries, and the feelings were mutual. But the German Jews? They were proud to be German, and as my dad used to say, if they had been allowed to join the pro-Germany Nazi Party, they would have done so in droves.
The ignorance shown by the young folks on the podcast is no great surprise. The U.S. wastes the most amount of money on both health and education and has nearly the worst outcomes in both. Education is less about knowing information and teaching how to think as much as being brainwashed on certain accepted views. The podcast has over 1 million followers, and the antisemitic tripe was broadcast on YouTube and Rumble. Now one might argue that they crossed the “fighting words” trigger for free speech when one of the geniuses blurted out “killing all of the motherf******” when it came to what to do with the Jews. But we’ll ignore that for now. There are two unpleasant extremes in the world of speech. One is playing out in Europe where police units are monitoring what people say and post online with the intent of either shutting down or arresting people with wrongthink. For example, if someone complains about too much illegal immigration or the social damage caused by so many unassimilated newcomers, he or she might be banned from social media or visited by the police. The other extreme is speech open to everyone, including the young adults who fantasize about killing Jews because Jews and reasons. America’s future success requires as much free speech as can be available. The reasons are simple. Firstly, it’s always good to know what your enemies are thinking. Deplatforming does not change their minds; it only moves their conversations to places where you cannot see them. Secondly, every process has its inefficiencies. When you catch a fish, only about 20-30 percent of the thing is edible. So for every truth warrior who brings the receipts and refuses to accept lies, you will have plenty of morons like the ones who proudly expressed their ignorance and Jew hatred for all the world to see. Honest politics and technological success demand a free exchange of ideas.
I can see the appeal of controlling speech to people like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Anything that might embarrass them or go against the Official Story on Covid, the Benghazi disaster or the like would be banned and its promoters warned or punished. But we have seen the outcome of Twitter, Facebook and others working directly with the FBI to hide Hunter Biden’s laptop and make us believe that Covid came from nature. The loss of faith in the system, an election thrown (15 percent said that they would have changed their vote from Biden had they known about the laptop from hell), the loss of belief in science and medicine—these are just some of the fruits of controlling speech by the government. No, I don’t like to hear people saying that they want to kill me and everyone like me for no reason other than we are Jews. The alternative, namely shutting them down, is a more likely cause for mass murder than letting ignorant lunatics express their Jew-hating fantasies.
There is a story of a fellow who made his first trip to the Temple in Jerusalem. He was all excited to enter a very holy place, but when he arrived, he found himself in a slaughterhouse. Much of what the priests did there was to offer sacrifices, and that meant that a lot of animals were offered on the altar. How could such a holy place be so bloody? The same could be asked about freedom. It’s tempting to limit speech that offends me, but free speech is ugly because any clown with a digital device and an internet connection can throw his or her views out to offend entire groups of people in no time. The disgusting podcast shows what happens when bigoted ignoramuses have working microphones. The alternative, namely government-monitored speech, is actually worse. And Europe is going to find that out hard very soon.
