Dems Aren't Even Trying to Hide Their Socialism Now

Socialism and communism are really just two sides of the same coin, but there are some mild differences. Basically, socialism is what it starts as and communism is where it ends up. There's a reason why Democrats have long distanced themselves from the term "socialist."

But after Zohran Mamdani's victory in New York City, the left isn't even trying to hide it anymore.

Let's start with this little bit featuring leftist "journalist" Mehdi Hasan, former Congressman Jamaal Bowman, and socialist streamer Hasan Piker.

So yeah, we "jumped" to communist to describe a guy who has literally said he wanted to abolish private property. That's what Bowman said, but it's clear these three are celebrating the seeming embrace of socialism by New Yorkers, and linking it to gubernatorial wins in New Jersey and Virginia.

In other words, to these three socialists, Mikie Sherill and Abigail Spanberger are socialists, too.

But let's get back to the whole "that's why they jumped to 'communist'" thing for a moment.

If socialism and communism are so different and the term shouldn't be applied to Mamdani, then why did Piker say this on the very same night?

The reason is that, as far as the left is concerned, there's no longer any reason to pretend they share American values anymore.

Sure, affordability is a legitimate position for a politician to take, especially in an expensive city like New York, but the truth is that these socialists are, in fact, communists. They think our winning the Cold War was a bad thing. They don't want Scandianvian-style "socialism"--I placed it in quotes because the Scandinavians reject the implication that they're socialists. They want outright communism, with them on top and the rest of us struggling just to survive.

Actual socialism and communism, which are indistinguishable to any degree, aren't about taking care of the poor or having robust welfare systems. It's about controlling every aspect of life. It's about taking away any reason for anyone to want to excel in any way. It's about the worst kind of authoritarianism, the kind that even medieval monarchs would balk at.

The left isn't pretending anymore, and while New York City politics aren't necessarily reflective of how things will play out nationally, the truth is that the mask is off. Mamdani might be able to get away with being so vocally socialist, while other Democrats might not be, but the fact that they support one another is very, very telling.

Don't let them fool you.

And if the right doesn't get its posterior in gear, they will destroy this nation entirely.
