SNAP benefits, or what most people think of as "food stamps," provide money for food for families and individuals living in poverty. With the government shut down, that program is now in jeopardy, and leftists are losing their minds over it.
That's not enough pressure for Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to knock it off, mind you, but still...
Here are a couple of wonderful examples from most definitely mentally stable people.

Of course, no one has actually said they're better than people on welfare so far as I've seen, though I could make the case that most of us actually are, simply because we're not milking taxpayer money just so we can sit at home and do nothing.
It's not a matter of luck, either. It's a matter of going out and looking for an actual job, then working that job until you make something of yourself. Most people do that, and they're not on welfare.

Those that don't, even though they're physically, mentally, and psychologically able to? I'm sorry, but that's not an argument to capitulate to everything leftists demand.
And that's the sane one of the two I'm sharing with you all today. Next, we've got this one.
Historically, civilian uprisings happen when their government can no longer feed them. https://t.co/ffk1p27Ngz

That sounds an awful lot like a threat, which is probably a less-than-great idea in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination and two attempts on President Trump's life while he was on the campaign trail.
Plus, if they're capable of staging an uprising, why aren't they capable of looking for a freaking job?
It's not the government's job to feed people. Countries that have taken on that supposed responsibility, like the USSR, China, and Venezuela, have also had a remarkable track record of famine following shortly behind.
Of course, no one rose up to do jack squat then, probably because dissent was crushed with a ruthlessness that would make Genghis Khan say, "Dude, you need to chill."
Yet this individual here makes an admission by implication that she likely didn't mean to make it. Again, if they can stage an uprising, they're able-bodied and able-minded enough to work for a living. Uprisings take a lot of work, at least to be successful, so if they can do that, why can't they go to work and feed themselves instead of demanding the rest of us put groceries in their fridges?
And let's not forget that the reason SNAP is in trouble is because Schumer wanted to fund healthcare for illegals. Republicans put forward a continuing resolution that would have maintained the status quo for seven weeks. That would have covered SNAP, among other things, for all this time, and Democrats threw a tantrum. (I originally mistyped "tantrum" and "tantrump," and I think the latter totally needs to be a word now.)
If there's going to be an uprising, then maybe it should probably take place within the Democratic Party.
Not that there will be. That's still too much work for some people.
