11,000 Scientists Sign Letter Suggesting Population Control to Stop Global Warming

More than 11,000 scientists signed a letter on Tuesday suggesting population control is the way to stop global warming and save humanity from supposed extinction.

The paper, published on BioScience.com, says that "Scientists have a moral obligation to clearly warn humanity of any catastrophic threat and to 'tell it like it is.' On the basis of this obligation and the graphical indicators presented below, we declare, with more than 11,000 scientist signatories from around the world, clearly and unequivocally that planet Earth is facing a climate emergency."

Ironically the scientists' paper, officially titled "World Scientists' Warning of a Climate Emergency," boasts its similarity to another dire warning from scientists 40 years ago warning of impending doom due to global warming. Here's a list of failed predictions for the past 50 years from the world's supposed best and brightest scientists. "Wrong Again: 50 Years of Failed Eco-pocalyptic Predictions."

But I digress. This time around, these scientists argue we must use "family-planning," aka abortions, contraception, and sterilization to "reduce" the number of people in the world. The scientists also advocate making higher education a "global norm" for all.

Here's what the paper specifically says:

Still increasing by roughly 80 million people per year, or more than 200,000 per day (figure 1a–b), the world population must be stabilized—and, ideally, gradually reduced—within a framework that ensures social integrity. There are proven and effective policies that strengthen human rights while lowering fertility rates and lessening the impacts of population growth on GHG emissions and biodiversity loss. These policies make family-planning services available to all people, remove barriers to their access and achieve full gender equity, including primary and secondary education as a global norm for all, especially girls and young women (Bongaarts and O’Neill 2018).

It should come as a surprise to no one that a group of leftist scientists are suggesting fewer people is the way too solve the world's problems. This sort of thinking has plagued progressives for at least the past 100 years. It is doubtful this plan could ever properly be enforced, unless through a tyrannical government.
