The Chicago Teachers’ Union protested the U.S. capturing Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, something that happened over 2,000 miles away.

Maduro and his wife were charged with narco-terrorism, importing cocaine, possession of machine guns and destructive devices, according to the 25-page indictment.

The union could spend money and efforts to improve reading and writing scores, but it's focused on international politics instead.

And that’s one reason why children who attend Chicago Public Schools struggle to read or do math.

Strangely, the Chicago Teachers' Union has a long history of supporting Venezuela, and it even visited the country in 2019.
