Progressive Sen. Elizabeth Warren went on MSNBC's The Morning Joe to shamelessly cheer on socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, praising his radical ideas as solutions to affordability. As Warren gushed about Mamdani's socialist agenda, it’s clear Democrats are lining up behind a candidate who openly embraces communist ideology.
"You got it, Joe! He comes in and talks about how to make NYC affordable for families," Warren said.
Warren has thrown her weight behind Mamdani, praising his far-left proposals, including government-run grocery stores and expansive socialist-style policies that many critics argue would only deepen the city’s economic struggles. Her enthusiastic backing of Mamdani highlights her alignment with the Democratic Party’s increasingly socialist agenda—a sharp departure from practical governance and a signal of more government overreach to come.

Despite concerns from more moderate Democrats and city leaders about Mamdani’s controversial past statements and extreme positions, Warren remains unapologetically supportive, demonstrating her commitment to pushing the party further left—even at the expense of New York’s families and small businesses.

Mamdani has plans for a government takeover of housing policy, including building 200,000 “affordable” units on the taxpayer’s dime, freezing rents on city-controlled properties, and weaponizing rent control to punish private landlords. Mamdani has made it clear he’s not interested in supporting small property owners or promoting economic growth and targeting “billionaire real estate moguls” and vilifying job creators who invest in the city. The private sector is alarmed by Mamdani's policies. For instance, the CEO of a New York real estate investment trust hosted a $2,000-a-ticket fundraiser for Mayor Eric Adams to help stop Mamdani’s far-left agenda before it cripples New York’s housing market even further.
