Trump Shares Powerful Passover Message as Holy Week Begins

President Donald Trump extended his well wishes for a “blessed” Passover holiday in a heartfelt message to Jewish families across the United States and Israel. Emphasizing the importance of faith and freedom, Trump acknowledged the significance of Passover as a time of reflection on the triumph of liberty over oppression. His message resonated with those who value strong family traditions and the shared commitment to faith, freedom, and resilience. Trump’s continued support for the Jewish community remains evident, marking another example of his unwavering dedication to the values that bind Americans and their allies together.

Ahead of Palm Sunday, President Trump shared a video on X from the White House account, recounting the story of Exodus. He emphasized that it serves as a reminder of the enduring strength of the Jewish people and highlighted the importance of placing faith "in Almighty God, no matter the circumstances.”

Trump wished Jewish people in America, Israel, and around the world a happy Passover, emphasizing the annual celebration of God's liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, led by Moses on their forty-year journey to the promised land. The president highlighted the story of Exodus as a reminder of the Jewish people's enduring strength and the importance of faith in God and prayed for God's continued protection over Americans, Israel, and the United States.

“I want to wish the Jewish people in America and Israel and all around the world a very happy Passover. Every year at this time, Jewish families celebrate God’s liberation of the ancient Israelites from slavery in Egypt, guiding them through the Prophet Moses on a forty-year journey to a very, very promised land,” Trump said in the video. “The story of Exodus, which is retold around the globe and all over the world at every Passover Seder, is a reminder not only of the enduring strength of the Jewish people but of the importance of putting our faith in Almighty God no matter what the circumstance. To all the Jewish families gathering with friends and loved ones this week, have a blessed Passover, and may God continue to watch over the Jewish people, the State of Israel, and the United States of America.”

Passover is one of the most important and widely celebrated Jewish holidays. It is about freedom and redemption. It commemorates the Israelites' exodus from slavery in Egypt, as told in the Hebrew Bible (or Old Testament) Book of Exodus.

Passover and Easter hold great significance this year, especially in light of the ongoing attacks on Israel. These sacred holidays are reminders of resilience, faith, and the enduring power of hope. In the face of adversity, the Jewish people’s strength and perseverance, as seen in Israel’s defense against terrorism, reflect the lessons of Passover. Similarly, Easter symbolizes victory over suffering and death, representing the triumph of good over evil. Trump’s video reaffirms the commitment to the values of liberty, faith, and justice that both the Jewish and Christian communities hold dear.
