LGBTQ Activists Warn Trump, Biden About This One Thing During the Debate

Townhall Media

The LGBTQ community not only demands a whole month for themselves but also wants the spotlight during the first 2024 presidential debate.

The alphabet people are warning former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden that they will feel “enormously slighted” if LGBTQ questions are not asked during the debate.

President and CEO of the advocacy organization GLAAD Sarah Kate Ellis said that the group issued a letter to CNN debate moderators Dana Bash and Jake Tapper to ensure they ask Trump and Biden questions about policies and past statements regarding the LGBTQ.

The rainbow people are “deeply affected by where these candidates stand,” adding that the LGBTQ community is worried they will be ignored.

“The safety and freedom of LGBTQ people depends on your engagement with the candidates and ability to inform voters about their records and proposals,” Ellis wrote, requesting the 2024 hopefuls to discuss their plans to advance their so-called "rights" should they be elected.

She also said that she wants Trump and Biden to be asked “about marriage equality, rising anti-LGBTQ hate and extremism, gender-affirming health care and the Equality Act — federal legislation that would make sexual orientation and gender identity protected classes.”

In 2020, according to a Washington Post analysis of election surveys, LGBTQ voters turned out in record numbers— representing eight percent of the overall electorate vote.

GLAAD said that LGBTQ voters are enthusiastic to vote this year, with 83 percent indicating they will “definitely” turn up at the polls.

In last year’s Republican primary debates, moderators refrained from discussing LGBTQ-related issues until Megyn Kelly asked candidates whether parents should support gender-affirming surgeries for minors.

Parental and transgender rights have been a major issue for both Republicans and Democrats with both having very stark differences on the matter.

While the Biden Administration has aimed to push its woke LGBTQ agenda on children, the GOP has fought to protect minors from the Left’s radical Marxist indoctrination.
