So This Is What Chris Christie Told Megyn Kelly After She Humiliated Him During the GOP Debate

Conservative podcaster Megyn Kelly revealed details of what former Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) said when he confronted her during a break at the fourth GOP presidential debate.

In a viral 13-second clip taken during a commercial break, Christie can be seen aggressively speaking to Kelly following the pair’s heated on-air spat.

“He was pissed off,” Kelly explained during “The Megyn Kelly Show” on Thursday. “He was mad that he wasn’t getting enough questions. And he said, ‘I made it up at this stage, and I haven’t been able to speak in awhile. And I should have been brought in on that last debate.’”

Kelly said that she told Christie he would be happy in the second half of the debate, which she delivered by asking him a series of questions.

Christie reportedly told the moderator he felt “excluded” during an open-ended conversation among the four candidates. Kelly said she told him he was scheduled to get another question about former President Trump’s immigration policies, adding that his low-polling numbers prohibited her from giving him equal questions compared to his more competitive rivals.

“He’s polling at two percent, okay? In no debate ever, and I’ve now done six of them, have we given as many questions to the guy who’s at three percent as to the person who’s in the lead, at least amongst the candidates on the stage? I’m sorry, Governor Christie, that’s the way it is,” Kelly said.

Kelly confirmed that, despite polling last in the race, Christie still managed to receive close to the same amount of time to answer questions as the other candidates.

Citing CNN data from the debate, Kelly insisted that the governor did not take a back seat during the event.

“Vivek got 22 minutes, DeSantis 21, Haley 17, Christie 16 and 52 seconds. So he was a half a minute behind Haley, who’s tied up there for number one,” Kelly continued.

Christie and Kelly went head to head during the debate as the moderator pointed out the governor’s record-low polling numbers.

She compared Trump’s high approval rating, in which he currently sits at 81 percent, to Christie’s mere 25 percent approval rating.

“Respectfully, governor, you have not stopped Mr. Trump, and voters may wonder how you could possibly become the nominee of a party that does not appear to like you very much,” Kelly said.
