This week began the start of the second Trump administration, this time with JD Vance beside President Donald Trump as his vice president. The nation is already off to a good start, in terms of our own country and on the world stage. The Trump administration, for his first term but already for his second term, stands in stark contrast to the Biden-Harris administration. This is perhaps no more on display with the amount of executive orders that Trump signed, many of them to undo those that President Joe Biden signed, as well as get the country back to where it was when Trump was first in charge. The United States is no longer part of the Paris Climate Accords or the World Health Organization (WHO), for instance, thanks to Trump's executive orders. There's also been plenty of policy differences, including and especially on abortion.
Earlier on Thursday, it was announced that Vance will speak at Friday's annual March for Life. Although the Roe v. Wade decision was overturned in 2022 by the Dobbs v. Jackson decision, thanks to pro-life justices that Trump appointed, the March is still held every year around the January 22 anniversary.

Vance was a particularly pro-life advocate during the 2022 elections, which led to him winning the U.S. Senate seat in Ohio to replace now retired Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH). Our coverage of a Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America press call following those midterm elections focused on Vance as a pro-life stalwart who managed to win on messaging, along with now Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who had then been reelected to his role as U.S. Senator for Florida, and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
Further, Vance also spoke at the 2023 March for Life in Ohio, as the March for Life highlighted in their statement on Thursday.
More recently, on the debate stage against Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), former Vice President Kamala Harris' particularly poor choice of a running mate, Vance particularly stood out in painting a clear contrast between the Republican and Democratic parties on the abortion issue. Under Trump, with Roe no longer being the law of the land, Republicans believe the issue should be up to the states to decide.

In sharp contrast, however, Democrats support abortion up until and even after birth, for any reason, without legal limit. They even lie about it to hide what are no doubt unpopular positions, as Walz did during the vice presidential debate last October. The Harris-Walz campaign and Democrats as a whole tried to repeatedly lied about a supposed nationwide abortion ban under Trump, but the president and his vice president have repeatedly affirmed it's all fearmongering.

Mike Pence, who was Trump's first vice president, is also pro-life, and has also attended and spoken at the annual March for Life, as he did in 2019.
There was plenty of pro-life news on Thursday as well. Trump, in a move that was eagerly anticipated, pardoned peaceful pro-life protesters who had been sentenced to years in prison for blocking abortion facilities.

The weaponized Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ) didn't merely go after Trump, but political opponents who were ordinary Americans. In addition to pro-life protesters, traditional Catholics and concerned parents at schoolboard meetings were also targeted.
Vance reposted Turning Point's Charlie Kirk expressing his excitement about the news of such pardons.

These pro-life protesters were aggresively prosecuted, including elderly grandparents and Holocaust survivors, while violent pro-abortion protesters largely received a free pass and even plea deals that prosecutors tried to sweep under the rug. Prosecutors used the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which pro-life members of Congress, namely Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) have insisted must be repealed, and have introduced legislation to do so.

The House also passed the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act on Thursday, a bill introduced by Rep. Ann Wagner (R-MO). It had been introduced in the Senate as well, by Sens. James Lankford (R-OK) and Jim Banks (R-IN), but failed to earn the necessary 60 votes to move forward, with a 52-47 vote taking place along party lines. Such commonsense legislation would merely protect babies born alive from failed abortions by ensuring they received medical care.
