Stephen Colbert's Failed Comedy Act Was Bleeding CBS Dry

Despite what Democrats might say, and they’ve had a lot to say, it turns out the Stephen Colbert’s show on CBS was causing the media giant to hemorrhage an absurd amount of money to keep it on the air.

A CBS statement regarding the replacement of the show revealed that Colbert’s abysmal performance was causing the company to take a $40 million loss annually. Byron Allen, the comedian and head of the Allen Media Group, will be taking over the slot by purchasing the air time from CBS. Allen will be expected to cover all production expenses and has the authrity to sell his own ad slots. The deal should bring in $15 million in profit for CBS each year.

So CBS is improving their bottom line by $55 million by ousting Colbert and negotiating a favorable deal. Seems like a good business move, right? Well, Democrats would have you believe that Donald Trump and his allies have puppeteered their way around Colbert’s firing, because I guess that unfunny late night television is what Trump fears most…or something.

The reality is that Colbert was simply a high-profile in-kind contribution machine for the Democrat party. Don’t forget, Colbert and James Talarico manufactured a controversy about “Trump not wanting you to see this” softball interview that they were unable to air because Colbert refused to give equal time to Talarico’s primary opponent. If that weren’t obvious enough, just look at the puff post the Democrats made after Colbert’s final episode.

Colbert proved why he was canned in his final episode. He directed the on-show band to play licensed music in hopes that CBS would catch a lawsuit and be forced to pay out of the nose for his antics.

Instead of working to build a profitable and entertaining product, Colbert (like many on the Left) built destructive monstrosity that existed to satisfy the egos of him and his liberal pals. But hey, if CBS is willing to lose $40 million to air some unfunny television, I'd be happy to give them some part-time work.
