Anti-Capitalists Need to Put Their Money Where Their Mouths Are

If you pay attention, you'll notice a pattern among the most vocal anti-capitalists. From Bernie Sanders, AOC, and Elizabeth Warren down to the college campus socialist loudmouth, they all have one thing in common: they're insanely wealthy. Bernie Sanders, the guy who was so lazy he got kicked out of a commune, has three houses and multiple cars that he got from selling books in the capitalist economy he despises. AOC wore a 'tax the rich' dress to the Met Gala, where tickets are tens of thousands of dollars, and the campus activists, invariably, live off mommy and daddy's vast fortune.

In short, socialism is the political ideology of the privileged.

I had to look up who Poppy Liu was, but she's the latest Leftist to decry capitalism.

Liu was born in China and came to America, where she works as an actress who has appeared in numerous television shows, including 'Better Call Saul' and 'New Amsterdam.'

"Capitalism is the greatest evil in the world," she said. Dismissing that she enjoys the nice things capitalism has given her. "I would be okay with it if it meant that more people in the world could live without oppression."

This is the exact inversion of reality. And anyone with a cursory understanding of history would know this. Socialism and communism impoverished, oppressed, and killed more people in human history than capitalism ever could. To enforce those agendas, socialist and communist regimes enacted speech codes, police forces to deal with dissenters and critics, and would routinely kill people to keep the rest in line.

It's probably lost on Liu that useful idiots like here were usually the first victims of socialist regimes, because once they served their purpose, the regime was only interested in confiscating their wealth. That meant the gulag or the wall.

If Liu — and AOC, and Sanders, Warren, and the rest — are so concerned about people not living under oppression, they can start by redistributing their wealth to the masses. Sell your house, get a beater car, and give your money away. That's what socialism is about, after all.

But much like the privileged Leftist who demands diversity in housing, jobs, and education but doesn't give up their position to a minority, Leftists like Liu are never willing to actually make the sacrifices. They don't live in a rundown apartment. They don't take public transportation. They don't buy groceries at Walmart or Aldi. They live in mansions, drive fancy cars, and shop at Whole Foods. The sacrifices of socialism are for the little guy to make, after all.

Until they start putting their money where their mouths are, they should be seen for the danger they are. They want the rest of us to live in abject poverty, crushed under the boot of a socialist state, while they sip champagne and pat themselves on the back for 'ending the evils of capitalism.'

If Liu wants to start practicing what she preaches, I'll gladly send her the address to which she can mail that check.
